First they cancelled their [PARA]membership (student unions are members, not individual [PARA]students), then after a only few months they decided they [PARA]wanted it back again. The driving force behind the disaffiliation [PARA]wasn't a right wing faction (as it is in some English colleges), but [PARA]a general feeling that the NUS services weren't worth the [PARA]membership fee. The NUS services must have improved rapidly.[PARA]Students regard their Student Association first and foremost as [PARA]a services organisation.[EITAL][PARA][PARA][ITAL][HDNG]SU FACILITIES:[EHDNG][EITAL][PARA]The Student Association's building is called the Student Union (so[PARA]that's 'the Association' that's the organisation and 'the Union' [PARA]that's the building, got that? Various good [PARA]works are done by CAG (the Community Action Group) and the [PARA]charity Rag raises dosh for good causes - รบ4,000 last year.[HDNG]RELIGIOUS:[EHDNG][PARA][STAT][BULL] 6 chaplains[ESTAT][PARA]Multi-faith chaplaincy centre (with 6 honorary chaplains of various[PARA]denominations) and a Muslim prayer room. During the summer, there's plenty of work [PARA]revolving around the Festivals trade for those who get in early enough.[PARA][PARA]
