The 12% or so students who can live in after their [PARA]1st year (as well as 1st years who want to cater for themselves) [PARA]are allocated places in the other types of housing. The 2nd option[PARA]is in the University-owned self-catering student houses, mostly [PARA]purpose-built groups. Finally, there are leased properties around [PARA]the city, which the University lets to students on a private basis. [PARA]About 8% of students in halls share and all corridors are split into[PARA]single sex groups, as are many of the student houses. In the [PARA]halls, 2 meals a day, 7 days a week, are provided, but there is a [PARA]midnight curfew during the week and 1am at weekends. There [PARA]are also 24 2-bedroom family flats and 6 flats for married [PARA]couples, [ITAL]but it ain't enough. [EITAL][PARA][BOLD]Car parking:[EBOLD] [ITAL]There's a desperate shortage of parking on and [PARA]around the campus[EITAL]. The east side and city centre are [PARA]not only too far, but also a bit rough.
