The Union is in the true unreconstructed left-wing fashion, but was never as left wing as anyone remembers it (vegetarians constitute a political force). Most students just let 'em get on with it.[EITAL][PARA][PARA][ITAL][HDNG]SU FACILITIES:[EHDNG][EITAL][PARA]The modern SU Building has 3 bars, a cafeteria, sandwich shop, service restaurant, 4 minibuses for hire, printing service, 2 shops (selling stationary, sweets and general goods), Midland Bank and cashpoint, Endsleigh Insurance office, photocopying, photo booth, games, video and vending machines, pool tables and jukes boxes and TV lounge.[HDNG]CLUBS (NON SPORTING):[EHDNG][PARA]Alternative; Anti-homophobia; Asian Cultural; Astronomy; Celtic; European Community; Groundling; Guitar; Hindu; Independent Missionaries; Juggling; Militant; Motor; Pakistan; Pub; Punjabi Bhangra; St John's Ambulance; Sci-Fi and Fantasy; Sikh; Soul; Students for Palestine; 3rd World 1st; Zap Zone.[HDNG]OTHER ORGANISATIONS:[EHDNG][PARA]'Pluto' is the SU newspaper and other media goes on in an academic sort of way at the Centre for Journalism. The do-gooders of the student community group do good all over the place.[HDNG]RELIGIOUS:[EHDNG][PARA][STAT][BULL] 1 chaplain[ESTAT][PARA]The Multi-Faith Centre is there for all religions to do their thing. Locally, there's the Cathedral, churches and places of worship for Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jews.[HDNG]PAID WORK:[EHDNG][PARA][ITAL]The north-west has weathered the recession storm only slightly better than a clingfilm tent.[EITAL][PARA][PARA]
