The [PARA]Counselling Service has 1 permanent and several part-time [PARA]counsellors, and the SU has 3. Tutors and chaplains also have [PARA]bendable ears. The Medical Centre for students' ailments is an [PARA]NHS-run practice with 3 doctors (1 female), 2 nurses, a night [PARA]nurse and psychiatrist. They offer a students-only surgery for a [PARA]couple of hours a day.[PARA][BOLD]Women: [EBOLD]Women are outnumbered and the present students told[PARA][PUSH]push[EPUSH] they'd like to see this changed.[PARA][BOLD]Disabled: [EBOLD][ITAL]Toilets and some rooms have been adapted. A few [PARA]ramps have been installed. All this makes Brunel, well, adequate.[EITAL][PARA][PARA][ITAL][HDNG]FINANCE:[EHDNG][EITAL][PARA][ITAL][STAT][BULL] Access fund: ú80,000 [BULL] Successful applications (1992): [PARA]300[ESTAT][EITAL][PARA]Welfare loans (up to a maximum of ú150) are available from the [PARA]SU. Debts are lower than average because many students pick [PARA]up pay packets at placements.[PARA][PARA]
