  1. The Magical Music Box (Demo version 1.1)

  5. Minimum system requirements:
  6. ---------------------------
  7. 486SX 25MHz (486DX 66MHz recommended), 
  8. 4MB RAM (8MB or more strongly recommended), 
  9. 8MB Hard disk Space, 
  10. Microsoft Windows(tm) 3.1x or later, Windows(r) 95 compatible 
  11. Display capable of at least 256 colours at 640x480 resolution(VGA or better), 
  12. Windows(tm) compatible sound card,
  13. Headphones or speakers,
  14. Double speed CDROM drive(300kb/sec), (MSCDEX 2.2 or later driver), 
  15. Mouse, 
  16. Apple's QuickTime(tm) 2.1.1 or later (provided)
  17.  
  18. The software has been run under Windows(r) 95/NT, but it is not a native
  19. 32-bit application.

  21. TROUBLE SHOOTING
  22. ----------------
  23. Movies
  24. ------
  25. Make sure you install the version of QuickTime(tm) which is provided on the 
  26. CD (Version 2.11.57), using the installer and allow it to remove any 
  27. previous versions. Even if you already use QuickTime 2.11, please install
  28. using this version, as it fixes some bugs from earlier versions. If you
  29. are running under Windows(r) 95 and currently use 32-bit QuickTime(tm), 
  30. you will still need to install the provided 16-bit version (the two versions 
  31. will co-exist quite happily). 
  32. If you need to tweak QuickTime(tm)'s performance, you can use the QuickTime
  33. for Windows Control Panel to change various video and sound options (the
  34. panel has it's own help for more in-depth information).
  35.  
  36. QuickTime(tm) incompatibilities
  37. ---------------------------
  38. 1) There is a clash between QuickTime(tm) and the Sigma Designs ReelMagic 
  39.    MPEG driver version 2.20. There is currently no fix, and Apple and Sigma 
  40.    are in the process of working around the problem. Windows(tm) 3.1 users 
  41.    can 'down-grade' to the previous version of the driver, which is not 
  42.    affected.

  44. 2) Cirrus Logic driver (v1.23) (otherwise known as Compaq/CL3X v1.23). Fix:
  45.    Upgrade to v1.24 which fixes the problem.

  47. Display
  48. -------
  49. If you experience crashes or screen corruption when running The Magical Music  
  50. Box, try the following:
  51. 1) Change to the standard SuperVGA driver (using Windows Setup in 
  52.    Windows(tm) 3.1 or the Display Control Panel in Windows(r) 95). 
  53. 2) Ensure you are using the most up-to-date release of your card's video
  54.    driver (contact your hardware vendor for availability).
