GeoDraw USA is shareware! These are the same instructions that you will find inside GeoDraw USA. This is a demonstration version. The only state that you can work with is Alabama. To register and receive the full updated version, send $12 ($52 for a site license) to:

GeoDraw USA will help you learn about a state of your choice. You will learn where the major rivers, cities, mountains, borders and other features are located. In order to do the work required you will need an atlas which shows political and physical information. Your teacher will provide this for you. You may also need a pencil and paper to take notes. You will also want to learn how to use all of the painting tools. You can take the paint tools lesson by clicking on the paint tools tab at the bottom of the screen.
GeoDraw USA is a HyperCard stack. [GeoDraw USA is also available for HyperStudio.] It will create another stack just for you. You have to decide which state you want your stack to be about. When you have chosen your state and your stack has been created, the stack will let you be the cartographer. You will click on buttons that will show you directions about what you are going to draw. It will tell you what geographical and political pictures you should draw on your map. When you are finished with the drawing you can print your map by clicking on the print button in the upper right corner of the screen. The map could also be pasted into other HyperCard stacks if you are or become a HyperCard author.
To get started explore the state names map and the example state map. Both are available by using the tabs below. Then choose a state to work on. Click on the choose tab and then click the state of your choice. Then just follow the on screen directions.
When your stack is created for you it will have your name in the title. Your state stack will be saved on the same disk that has GeoDraw USA. Also, it will give you three copies of the blank state map in case you mess up. If all three maps get ruined, just go back to GeoDraw USA and choose your state again.
