  2. Along with this file you will find a brand new VirusScan, version 2.1.  
  3. We are excited to bring you this new technology.  We have introduced 
  4. new detection and cleaning engines which perform significantly faster 
  5. than previous versions of the software, while providing us with a 
  6. foundation for even better detection of viruses.  Additionally, the 
  7. memory usage of this new product has been reduced, which allows it 
  8. to run in even more environments.

  10. We are providing this new version to you as a part of our commitment
  11. to provide our customers with the highest levels of service and 
  12. support.  In order to ensure that our new technology meets your 
  13. requirements, we are asking you for feedback.  If you encounter any 
  14. features that you would like to see added, if you encounter any 
  15. "false alarms" (or files that are reported as infected that are not, 
  16. in fact, infected), or if you encounter any problems with the 
  17. software, we would like to hear from you right away.  We are 
  18. committed to responding to your feedback as quickly as possible.

  20. Regarding false alarms, we strive for the highest detection rates, 
  21. with minimal false detections.  However, we also want to be 
  22. conservative in our reporting of virus infections.  Therefore, 
  23. when we suspect that a file is infected, we will report that 
  24. suspicion to you.  It is possible that it is not infected.  As 
  25. always, when you encounter a file that is infected, we encourage 
  26. you to send us the file for additional evaluation.  You can 
  27. upload the file to our forums on CompuServe (GO MCAFEE) and America 
  28. On-Line (McAfee), our Internet node (mcafee.com) or our BBS 
  29. (408-988-4004, 8N1).  You may also send us the file on diskette 
  30. (McAfee, 2710 Walsh Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95051).
