- FloatMenu puts a very small, stay-on-top menu on your desktop.
- Use it launch up to 66 of your favorite programs or files.
- It can also be used as a line marker.
- Left-clicking on it brings up a menu of selected shortcuts,
- while a right-click pops up an options menu.
- FloatMenu initially appears in the upper-right-hand corner of the
- desktop, but you can move it wherever you like.
- Options let you resize it, change its color and save your preferences
- and position.
-
- Install:
- ********
- FloatMenu needs the VB5run to be installed.
- Also needs Iconmenu32.ocx, Comdlg32.ocx and Stkit432.dll,
- included with this setup.
- If you don't have the VB5run then download the VB5run2 at
- http://www.mslm.com/free.htm
- To install FloatMenu, double click Setup.exe and select a path
- for it to be installed in.
- Reinstall:
- ********
- Select the Reinstall option in Setup.exe, be sure to reinstall in the same
- directory as previously installed.
- Close FloatMenu before installing.
-
- Uninstall:
- ********
- Right click FloatMenu and select "Remove from Startup",
- then right click it again and select Exit, then delete the Startmenu
- directory.
-
- Instructions:
- ************
- To add items to FloatMenu, right click it,
- Select Add Items, Additem.exe will popup.
-
- 1- Select file or directory to add to FloatMenu, be sure
- the correct path is transfered to the top/right text box.
- 2- Give it a name in the top/left text box.
- 3- Then click the Add Item button.
-
- Examples how it should like when added:
- Notepad<C:\Windows\Notepad.exe
- To have FloatMenu open a directory, it should look like this:
- Windows<C:\Windows
- The character < is a separator for FloatMenu to distinguish
- between name and path.
-
- 4- To remove items, delete the line in the large text box and
- remove spaces between lines.
-
- 5- Click Sort alphabetically to sort items in alphabetical
- order.
-
- 6- To add separators between menu items:
-
- example on how to add a separator after Notepad,
-
- Notepad<C:\windows\Notepad.exe
- Notepada<@
-
- The Notepada<@ will be a separator, notice the added letter
- "a" to Notepad so it will fall alphabetically after Notepad.
- The @ tells FloatMenu to make it a separator.
-
- 7- Example to add a URL to the menu:
-
- MSLM<http://www.mslm.com
- Microsoft<http://www.microsoft.com
-
- But it will not have an icon, point it to an Internet shortcut
- in order to have an icon.
-
- 8- If you have IE40 or Win98, add this path to the Floatmenu
-
- Desktop<C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Show Desktop.scf
- With this you can toggle viewing the Desktop.
- Considering C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM is the windows\System path in
- your computer.
-
- Note:
- ****
- For DOS program, point FloatMenu to a shortcut of the DOS
- program instead of the EXE, so it will show the MS-DOS icon,
- otherwise it will show a generic icon.
-
- Click Sort alphabetically to sort items in alphabetical order.
- Note: After sorting alphabetically you can place your most favorites
- anywhere you like manually.
-
- Once you have added the all items and clicked Save and Exit,
- that will restart FloatMenu with 2 second wait.
- There is no work around that at the time being, the OCX wouldn't
- refresh an icon menu unless you restart the program.
-
- To add FloatMenu to the Startup folder, right click it and click Add to startup,
- to remove it click Remove from Startup.
-
- To move FloatMenu, drag and drop it, grab the very far right side of
- it with the mouse, and drop it. Doing that would not open the menu.
-
- To open the FloatMenu, click on 80% of the left side of it.
-

- ******
-
- ClipIt doesn't automatically copy the clipboard, you have to
- simply click it when you want to copy the clipboard.
- Copies only the Text part of the clipboard in black and white,
- will be working on it to copy the clipboard in richtext
- in the future.
-
- It becomes handy when you are copying notes or surfing the
- Internet, you can quickly add as you please a URL, address
- or any thing else rather than saving it somewhere and waste
- your time looking for it.
-
- Every time you start ClipIt, it will check the time and date stamp
- on a file called Date.txt, if Date.txt is older than 24 then it will
- automatically save your yesterdays notes and name it with today's
- date, e.g. May15.rtf, then creates new ClipIt.rtf to save your today's
- notes and inserts current date.
- Then delete and recreate a new Date.txt to know when the 24 hours
- has passed..
-
- To view your notes, click ClipItView icon.
- To view older notes in ClipItView , click the scroll bar in the top right
