TreeSize Professional is a powerful and flexible harddisk space manager for
Windows 95/98/NT. Find out which folders are the largest on your
drives and recover Megabytes on it. Treesize Professional shows you the size,
allocated and wasted space, the number of files, 3D bar charts and pie charts,
the last access date and much more information for several folders or drives
you choose. It also searches for old, big and temporary files on your hard
disks. The application has an intuitive Explorer-like user interface and it is
fast and multithreaded. You can print detailed reports or export the collected
Data to Excel or a text file. TreeSize Pro can be started from the context
menu of every folder or drive.


INSTALLATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Click on Setup.exe and follow the instructions. It is possible to uninstall
TreeSize Professional via Control Panel/Software. You can and should
install both V1.0 and V2.0 beta as long as V2.0 is in beta state.
By installing TreeSize Professional you accept the license agreement outlined
in License.txt


COPYRIGHT

TreeSize Professional is Shareware, that means you can try it and distribute
the complete archive. If you decide to use it, you must register. Look in the
help file for registration information.

BUGS AND LIMITATIONS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please report errors and problems to the author. Here's a list of known bugs
and problems:

* Direct export to Excel 95 will only work, if the default language for
  OLE Automation in Excel 95 is english. All localized versions (e.g. German
  or French) have localized OLE commands, that means I need to know French
  or Chinese OLE commands to automate the localized versions. I'm not sure
  if I will find a solution for this problem. But It works fine with all
  versions of Excel 97.

* If you have installed WS FTP Professional V5.0 or higher, this software
  installs two new folders with FTP Connections, one of them below 'Desktop'
  or 'My Computer' and an other in 'Program Files\Ws_ftp'. When you now scan
  your Program Files folder with TreeSize Professional, the Ws_Ftp shell
  extensions try to connect to all listed FTP servers. To solve this problem,
  you can delete this folder in the Explorer, it is not necessary, because
  there is still he same folder under 'Desktop' available.

* Added search for temporary internet files
* Improved searching for temporary files
* The free space of the drives in the search options is now displayed
* The command line option /Search:Start starts a file search
* The toolbar now has a 'Stop scanning' button and 'Remove folder' button
* You can now enter a path directly into the drive combo box
* The combo box also lists the recently scanned folders
* You can adjust the length of the list of recently scanned folders/drives
  in the options dialog
* When using the /SAVE command line option, TreeSize Professional was not
  terminated after saving. This is corrected now.
* If you use a command line option, which automatically saves the scanned data,
  the date is now added to the specified file name.
* Problem fixed: Changing the sort option always switched the view to details
  mode
* Problem fixed: Changing the view type (size, allocated, wasted, ...), when no
  folder was in the left pane caused an error.

Version 2.0 (final release): Released on May 30 1998
* TreeSize Professional 2 is now present in the context menu of folders in the
  network neighbourhood. Therefore it is important, that you uninstall any beta
  version of TreeSize Professional 2, before you install this version.

Version 2.0 beta 5: Released on May 19 1998
* Fixed a problem which caused the error message 'Invalid argument to date
  encode' on some servers >16GB
* Fixed a problem which produced wrong results for folder sizes on some
  Netware servers
* Fixed a problem with export to Excel 95
* Now a manual as Word document is included
* Some other minor problems fixes

Version 2.0 beta 4: Released on Apr 24 1998
* Added Checkboxes to the File Search lists to make it easier to delete
  multiple files
* The main window and the search window now appear individually in the
  windows task bar
* You can add additional (UNC) paths to the drive list of the search window
* You can now exclude the header when exporting. This makes automatic
  processing of the exported data easier.
* Fixed a problem when printing the folder contents and corrected wrong
  aligned column headers in all printed lists
* Some minor problems fixed

Version 2.0 beta 3: Released on Mar 10 1998
* Filling of the list is done much faster now
* The list columns can now be reordered by drag&drop on the headers
* The total space on a volume is now shown in the status bar
* The unit (KB/MB) is now included in the charts
* You can now set a custom title for printing and exporting. The default title
  is path + volume name.
* In the file search window, only those sheets are visible, which are enabled
  in the options.
* In the previous versions, not all temporary files were found
* Sometimes the <Files> tree nodes did not have a caption, this is
  corrected now
* A new version of InstallShield is used which solves some problems with the
  installation, e.g. starting Treesize Professional from the context menu
  of a folder which name contains blanks did not work correctly under Windows NT
* A new version of COMCTL32.DLL is now included, because TreeSize
  Professional makes use of new features of the Windows Common Controls

Version 2.0 beta 2: Released on Jan 30 1998
* The Recycled folder should now show the correct size on IE4 systems
  and on Windows 98 systems.
* Fixed a problem with export to Excel 97 SR1
* Added the command line options /PRINT and /EXPAND
* File search results can now be saved in a text file
* New help file
* Some other small bug fixes and enhancements have been incorporated

Version 2.0 beta 1: Released on Dec 20 1997
* Large parts of the source code are rewritten to be more efficient
* The contents of a directory can be printed, including all files and
  the corresponding icons
* You can select multiple files in the file list
* The summarized size of all selected objects is shown in the status bar
* You can remove folders from the tree, which are smaller than a certain value
* You can update a single branch of the directory tree
* You can now search for:
  - Search for temporary files
  - Search for oldest files
  - Search for biggest files
* The 'Last Change' date is now displayed too
* It is possible to export a complete list of files now
* I increased the speed of the scanning process, but the faster performance
  was nearly fed up by the new features. I'm sorry about that.
* You can use the command line option '/SAVE Filename.txt FolderToScan' to tell
  TreeSize Professional to save the collected data in a textfile and terminate
  after scanning. This allows scheduled Scans. /EXCEL does the same for the
  excel export
* When exporting data, the name and path can be split into two columns
* TreeSize Pro now doesn't show drives in the toolbar which are hidden
  with Microsofts TweakUI
* You can now enter directly a path for scanning, e.g. an UNC path
* There's an option to expand only those files, which are bigger than a
  certain size or to remove small folders from the tree.
* Export ot Excel is much faster now
* A lot of other small and useful enhancements have been incorporated
