  1. Switcheroo - a sound sample randomizer.

  9. Why randomize sounds? Well, I have, over the years, collected lots of
  10. wacky sound samples that I use as the default beep, message beeps,
  11. and compiler result sounds. But by the end of a day, these sounds
  12. begin to grate - especially if there is anyone else in the vicinity
  13. that has to put up with them as well. The solution - have them change
  14. automatically.

  16. Switcheroo comes in two halves - an applet that lives in the taskbar,
  17. and a control panel style program that allows you to set up your sound
  18. choices. When switcheroo is running, it will randomize the windows 
  19. sound events based on your selections.

  21. The reason for splitting it into two halves is to keep the memory
  22. requirements low - the randomizer itself only requires 35K to run
  23. (although it will appear as more in task lists due to it using 
  24. shared .DLLs) - I think this is important for a program that is
  25. meant to be running all the time.

  27. Change your settings from the control program either by finding it in
  28. the start menu, or by right clicking the taskbar icon. You can also
  29. turn randomization off and on from there.

  46.     -notaskbar = run silently without the taskbar icon.
  47.     -onceonly  = randomize sounds once, then quit.

  51.   * Focus returns properly to sample list after a 'Remove'.
  52.   * Sample list is now multiple-select.
  53.   * Sample list now supports 'cut' and 'paste' filenames (to make it
  54.     easy to transfer lists of samples between events.
  55.   * Sample list uses windows hotkeys (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Del)
  56.   * Minor bug fixed with 'Randomize Now' button when Registry entry
  57.     has been deleted.

  72. else - i.e. you can include it on magazine cover CDs).

  75. on the internet and it seemed appropriate. Hopefully they don't mind
  76. me using it.
