  5. Infoseek Desktop is designed to make the most of your Internet 
  6. searching experience. Infoseek Desktop saves you time by giving
  7. you quick access to different areas of the Internet right from 
  8. your desktop.
  9.  
  10. New features added in version 4.0 (P1h)

  12.         Clear History: Infoseek Desktop maintains a history of 
  13.         all searches. The user can clear the searches by picking 
  14.         the Edit>Clear history menu item from the Infoseek 
  15.         drop-down menu.

  17.         Easy Autohide feature access: Autohide feature for Infoseek
  18.         Desktop can be easily accessed by making a right-click on
  19.         the toolbar or choosing the Autohide menu item from the 
  20.         Infoseek drop-down menu.

  22. How to Use Infoseek Desktop:

  24. The Infoseek Desktop toolbar is always on your screen, ready 
  25. to search when you are. Simply enter in a keyword, phrase, 
  26. question or URL in the search box and click the Seek button.
  27. Infoseek Desktop will then return your search results in your 
  28. default browser window.

  30. You can also use the television icon and menu for quick access
  31. to Infoseek Channels.

  34. Using the Search Icons:

  36. With Infoseek Desktop, you can apply your search to a specific
  37. collection, such as News Wires, Company Profiles, Stock Quotes,
  38. or E-mail Addresses. If the collection you chose does not yield 
  39. results, click the globe and Infoseek Desktop will search the 
  40. World Wide Web.

  43. Save Your Search:

  45. If you find a search that you would like to save for future
  46. use, click the floppy disk icon to save the search for quick
  47. access in the future.

  50. Edit Your Saved Search:

  52. To edit one of your saved searches, click the pencil and paper
  53. icon, then select the saved search to edit.

  56. Use Your Saved Search:

  58. To use one of your saved searches, click on the folder icon 
  59. and choose your previously saved search.

  62. Using Cut, Copy, and Paste:

  64. Use Cut, Copy, and Paste to take content from other applications
  65. on your desktop and use as your search criteria. Simply select
  66. some text in one of your applications, select Copy then pick
  67. Edit > Paste from the Infoseek menu in order to search for that
  68. text on the Internet.
