  7. Saddle up for some rootin' tootin' fun in Great Adventures by 
  8. Fisher-Price(tm) Wild Western Town.  With seven fantastic play areas, 
  9. children will blaze a new trail of adventure with every visit.  
  10. Fun activityies, toe tappin' western tunes, and a hunt for the 
  11. outlaw, Bandit Bob, will keep young whippersnappers busy for hours.

  26. This demo contains one playable activity from Great Adventures by 
  27. Fisher-Price(tm) Wild Western Town.  From the main town, 
  28. click on The Wanted Poster building to play.  You can click on 
  29. the other buildings for screenshots of other activities found 
  30. in the game!

  33. WACKY WANTED POSTERS:
  34.  
  35. Young deputies-in-training will laugh themselves silly making their 
  36. own wanted posters!  Click the Wanted Poster hanging in the Sheriff's
  37. Office to begin.  Design a poster by clicking on the icons. 
  38.  
  39. Hat:     Click repeatedly to see the hat choices, or choose no hat.
  40. Head:     Change the head
  41. Body:    Change the body
  42. Broom:    Clear the poster
  43.  
  44. Next, choose from a crazy assortment of stickers!  Just click 
  45. on the big arrow buttons below the stickers to see all of the 
  46. differnt sitckers.  Then, click and drag them onto your poster. 
  47.  
  48. When you're finished making a poster, click on the red arrows 
  49. at the top to make and save another one.  You can make as many as
  50. five!

  52. Please note:  Printing is disabled in this demo.

  56. COMPAQ COMPUTERS:

  58. To avoid problems when running the Fisher-Price« Wild Western
  59. Town Demo on Compaq machines while using the Compaq wallpaper, 
  60. we suggest that the wallpaper be turned off or set to NONE.
  61. To change your wallpaper, go to Control Panel, Display. 
  62. Refer to your Windows documentation for further details.

  64. If you still encounter a problem, try changing your display
  65. settings to 256 colors. See CHANGING YOUR COLOR DEPTH below.

  69. CHANGING YOUR COLOR DEPTH

  71. The Fisher-Price« Wild Western Town Demo was designed to run 
  72. in 256-colors.If you experience problems running any part of 
  73. the Demo, try changing your display settings to a higher color depth.

  75. To increase the number of colors in Windows 95:
  76.  
  77. 1. From the START menu, go to SETTINGS
  78. 2. From the SETTINGS menu, select CONTROL PANEL
  79. 3. From CONTROL PANEL, select DISPLAY
  80. 4. A DISPLAY PROPERTIES dialogue box will appear
  81. 5. Select the SETTINGS tab at the top of the Display Properties 
  82.    dialogue box
  83. 6. Go the COLOR option, and increase the number of colors
  84.

  88. OPTIMIZING PERFORMANCE:
  89.  
  90. On some PC configurations, the speed of the Demo may appear 
  91. slow. To optimize the performance of your PC and increase the 
  92. speed at which these demos run, try these helpful tips.
  93.  
  94. 1.  Turn OFF any virus scanning programs and screen savers that 
  95.     might be running.
  96.  
  97. 2.  Turn OFF ALL applications except for the 'Windows explorer' 
  98.     If you are running an alternate desktop, leave only your desktop 
  99.     program running.
  100.  
  101. 3.  Set screen resolution to 640x480 [Refer to your Windows guide 
  102.     on Running the Setup Program or Setting Up Windows]
  103.  
  104. 4.  Set the number of colors to be displayed to 256 (some color 
  105.     cards may require colors to be set at 65,536; 65,535; 64K; or 
  106.     65K, depending on vendor) [Refer to the section above title
  107.     CHANGING YOUR COLOR DEPTH].

  109. If the suggestions above still do not result in satisfactory 
  110. performance, you may have a fragmented disk. Use your Windows 95
  111. Disk Defragmenter to optimize your hard drive.

  116. OPTIMIZE YOUR CD-ROM ACCESS PERFORMANCE

  118. 1. From the "My Computer" desktop icon, select "Control Panel".
  119. 2. Select "System".
  120. 3. Select "Performance".
  121. 4. Select "File System".
  122. 5. Select "CD-ROM".
  123. 6. For optimum CD access times, change the supplemental cache to "Large".
  124. 7. Be certain that the Optimize access pattern is appropriate for your
  125.    CD-ROM. This should be no lower than "Double-speed Drives".
  126. 8. If any changes were made, select "Apply", then restart Windows.
