  3. Thank you for trying my Icon Library product.
  4.  
  5. There are more than 5400 icons in 154 categories in this shareware version.
  6. I hope you like them! By registering, you will receive a total of more than
  7. 10,000 icons.
  8.  
  9. The icon viewer program has a few new facilities which I think you will
  10. find useful.
  11.

  13. To install this product, follow these steps:
  14.  
  15. - Create a new directory to hold the icon libraries, the viewer program and
  16.   other related files.
  17.   eg.  MD C:\icolib4
  18.  
  19. - Change to this directory and copy icolib04.zip into this directory.
  20.   eg.  CD C:\icolib4
  21.  
  22. - Unzip the archive file.  You must use the "-d" option of pkunzip. 
  23.   eg.  pkunzip -d icolib04
  24.   You can now delete the icolib04.zip file from this directory, but make
  25.   sure that you have a backup elsewhere.

  27. - Use the Windows File Manager to copy the icolib.exe file to a Program Manager
  28.   group. The program is now ready to run; just click on the icon to start the
  29.   program.

  32. Version 3 has had the following major improvements made:
  33.  
  34. - Allow 2 levels of hierarchy in the menu system.
  35. - Change heading to show menu description rather than the ICL filename.
  36. - Provide facility to reload menus without restarting program.
  37. - Clicking on an icon in the client area will allow the user to save that
  38.   icon to a .ICO file.
  39. - Include Common Dialog routines for File Save and Choose Color.
  40. - Provide ability to clear the icon screen without loading new icons.
  41. - Increase icon collection from 3000 icons in 60 categories to over
  42.   10,200 icons in 154 categories in the registered version.
  43. - All icons have been "tidied" up, in particular where the background was a
  44.   fixed color (usually white) it has been changed to be transparent. The icons
  45.   usually look much better this way.
  46. - Allow the background color of the display area to be changed. Note that if
  47.   there are multiple instances of ICOLIB running, all will have the same
  48.   background color after the next repaint of each client area.
  49. - Fixed a bug which limited the number of categories to 143.
  50. - The help file was updated to describe these changes.

  53. Version 4 has had the following major improvements made:

  55. - Save window position and size on program exit in INI file. Restore this
  56.   position and size when restarting the program.
  57. - Allow the use of path names for ICL files specified in the icolib.ini file.
  58.   There is a limit of 66 characters for the pathname. Examples...
  59.      Item_1=icons\rabbit.icl,This is a rabbit...
  60.      Item_2=..\icondir\rabbit.icl,This is a rabbit...
  61.      Item_3=d:\tmp\rabbit.icl,This is a rabbit...
  62.      Item_4=\top_dir\icons\rabbit.icl,This is a rabbit...
  63.      Item_5=c:\windows\progman.exe,Windows Program Manager Icons...
  64. - Bug Fix: If user saved an icon and changed directory for this save
  65.   operation, the icolib.ini file would be written to this new location
  66.   rather than the directory containing the icolib.exe file.
