  6. Help Dot turn her bad dreams into good ones by blowing kisses at the
  7. bad guys, knocking them silly with her charm. Use the spacebar 
  8. to blow kisses then use the arrow keys run them over and send 
  9. them on their way.

  12. This demo contains: 3 levels
  13. 3 bad guys:    
  14. Ralph the Guard -- takes 1 shot to stun    
  15. Dr. Scratchnsniff- takes 2 shots to stun    
  16. Hello Nurse ---    takes 3 shots to stun

  19. TO PLAY
  20. *Once you've downloaded and extracted the Animaniacs Demo files, 
  21.  go to your hard drive
  22. *Double-click on the AnimDemo folder
  23. *Double-click on the exe. 
  24.  
  25. GAME OPTIONS 
  26.  
  27. Select "Game Options" from the Smoocher Menu to change the
  28. Left, Right, Jump and Fire keys.
  29.  
  30. If you wish to exit the Animaniacs Demo at any time, press 
  31. Escape or <Alt> & <F4>.

  44. COMPAQ COMPUTERS:

  46. To avoid problems when running the Animaniacs Demo 
  47. on Compaq machines while using the Compaq wallpaper, we
  48. suggest that the wallpaper be turned off or set to NONE.
  49. To change your wallpaper, go to Control Panel, Display. Refer
  50. to your Windows documentation for further details.

  52. If you still encounter a problem, try changing your display
  53. settings to 256 colors. See CHANGING YOUR COLOR DEPTH below.

  57. CHANGING YOUR COLOR DEPTH
  58.  
  59. The Animaniacs Demo  was designed to run in 256-colors.
  60. If you experience problems running any part of the Demo, try 
  61. changing your display settings to a higher color depth.

  63. To increase the number of colors in Windows 95:
  64.  
  65. 1. From the START menu, go to SETTINGS
  66. 2. From the SETTINGS menu, select CONTROL PANEL
  67. 3. From CONTROL PANEL, select DISPLAY
  68. 4. A DISPLAY PROPERTIES dialogue box will appear
  69. 5. Select the SETTINGS tab at the top of the Display Properties 
  70.    dialogue box
  71. 6. Go the COLOR option, and increase the number of colors
  72.

  76. OPTIMIZING PERFORMANCE:
  77.  
  78. On some PC configurations, the speed of the Demo may appear 
  79. slow. To optimize the performance of your PC and increase the 
  80. speed at which these demos run, try these helpful tips.
  81.  
  82. 1.  Turn OFF any virus scanning programs and screen savers that 
  83.     might be running.
  84.  
  85. 2.  Turn OFF ALL applications except for the 'Windows explorer' 
  86.     (if you are running an alternate desktop, leave only your 
  87.     desktop program running).
  88.  
  89. 3.  Set screen resolution to 640x480 [Refer to your Windows guide 
  90.     on Running the Setup Program or Setting Up Windows]
  91.  
  92. 4.  Set the number of colors to be displayed to 256 (some color 
  93.     cards may require colors to be set at 65,536; 65,535; 64K; or 
  94.     65K, depending on vendor) [Refer to the section above title
  95.     CHANGING YOUR COLOR DEPTH].

  97. If the suggestions above still do not result in satisfactory 
  98. performance, you may have a fragmented disk. Use your Windows 95
  99. Disk Defragmenter to optimize your hard drive.

  104. OPTIMIZE YOUR CD-ROM ACCESS PERFORMANCE

  106. 1. From the "My Computer" desktop icon, select "Control Panel".
  107. 2. Select "System".
  108. 3. Select "Performance".
  109. 4. Select "File System".
  110. 5. Select "CD-ROM".
  111. 6. For optimum CD access times, change the supplemental cache to "Large".
  112. 7. Be certain that the Optimize access pattern is appropriate for your
  113. CD-ROM. This should be no lower than "Double-speed Drives".
  114. 8. If any changes were made, select "Apply", then restart Windows.

  117. INCREASE THE AVAILABLE MEMORY FOR WINDOWS 95 PROGRAMS TO RUN

  123. 5. For best results, use the first option: "Let Windows manage..."
