  1. Embellish 2.01 Demo Program

  5. This file contains the installation routines for the 
  6. fully functional demo version of Embellish.  To run
  7. the installation the following method is suggested:
  8.  
  9. For Win95 users, run setup.exe to install Embellish.
  10.  
  11. For OS/2 users, run install.exe to install Embellish.
  12.  
  13. See the read.me file (available after installation) for
  14. information on un-installing the demo version.
  15.  
  16. This demo is fully functional, but for the Win95 version
  17. file association has been disabled.  This is the ability
  18. to click on a file and have the application load it.  We
  19. have turned this off to avoid overwriting associations that
  20. you may currently have.  Rest assured, this association is
  21. available in the regular version.

  27. What is Embellish?
  28.  
  29. Embellish is a cross platform (OS/2 & Win95) image editing
  30. application.  It is completely
  31. multithreaded - multiple images can be opened simultaneously,
  32. file saves and printing occur in the background, etc.  You have
  33. control over the priority of processes, which allows you to
  34. manage which programs get the most attention.

  36. Embellish takes an object orientated approach to image editing.
  37. Every time you make a paint stroke, cut and paste or perform a
  38. special effect you create an object. These objects can be moved,
  39. resized, manipulated or have transparency changed.  You can even
  40. link a URL to an object for use in creating image maps.  Save
  41. objects for later use or copy and paste objects between
  42. different images.

  44. Embellish includes 22 special effects, such as swirling, oil
  45. painting and acid wash.  Effects can be applied to the entire
  46. image or just to selected objects.

  48. Embellish has over 50 built in numerical filters with the
  49. ability to design your own (up to 7 by 7 grid).

  51. Embellish has 16 paint tools that can be combined with 14 types
  52. of "paint" to create an almost unlimited variety of looks to
  53. your paint strokes.

  55. Embellish includes web tools to optimize colors for use in
  56. browsers.  It also can create image maps to make your Web site
  57. really professional.  As mentioned, you can link URLs to objects
  58. to make creating image maps a snap and also allow you to easily
  59. change images without having to completely recreate the image
  60. map.

  62. Embellish supports interlaced/transparent GIFs as well as
  63. interlaced JPEGs.  In fact it supports over 14 different file
  64. formats and includes batch conversion routines.
  65.  
  66. Embellish supports pressure sensitive digitizers.  To use a
  67. digitizer under OS/2 requires IBM's Pen for OS/2.
  68.  
  69. The Win95 version also supports TWAIN acquisition devices.
  70. OS/2 scanner support is currently limited to drivers provided
  71. buy CFM of Germany.
