  71.                    Limitations of the demo version.
  72. =====================================================================

  74. LCHESS DEMO is meant to let you evaluate the software before buying
  75. the full release version.
  76.  
  77. LCHESS DEMO is a fully functional chess program and has many features
  78. but a few limitations have been build-in.
  79.  
  80. The list below provides an overview of the limitations and features
  81. that are disabled in the demo version but ARE available in the retail
  82. product. Not all differences are mentioned, only the major ones:

  84. - No database functions
  85.  
  86. - Limited strength, two level of play available.
  87.  
  88. - Introduction screen pops-up now and then.
  89.  
  90. - Fewer piece sets and clocks.
  91.  
  92. - No support for the user opening book. Adding / creating your own
  93.   set of openings is not available here.
  94.  
  95. - Smaller main opening book.
  96.  
  97. - Limited printing functions.
  98.  
  99. - No Endgame CD-ROMs from Ken Thomson.

  103.               ORDERING INFORMATION LCHESS 2.0 for WINDOWS

  106. LCHESS for Windows can be ordered by printing the supplied order form
  107. (ORDER.FRM) and send it (filled in!)to LokaSoft.
  108.  
  109. Several methods of payment are listed in the order form. Check only one
  110. that applies. Note that most of the transfers are only accepted in
  111. the Netherlands. If you live outside the Netherlands only pre-payment
  112. is accepted. After receipt of your order AND your payment a package
  113. LCHESS for Windows (disk(s) and manual) is shipped immediately.

  115. DELIVERY
  116.  
  117.     Allow some time for delivery if you live outside the Netherlands.
  118.     To save (YOUR) money on shipping cost 2 - 3 weeks are required
  119.     before LCHESS arrives.
  120.  
  121.     If you live in Europe you best send a Eurocheque drawn in dutch
  122.     guilders (NLG) together with the orderform for speedy delivery.

  127. In addition to the US version LCHESS is available in Dutch and German
  128. versions.

  133.                            HELP
  134. =====================================================================

  137. 1.    INSTALLATION
  138.  
  139.       From the program manager you select the RUN command, and enter
  140.       A:SETUP.
  141.  
  142.       The SETUP program asks you where you wish to copy LCHESS DEMO
  143.       to on your harddisk.
  144.  
  145.       Next the files are copied and the LCHESS DEMO group is created.
  146.  
  147.       Now that the installation is complete you have a change to view
  148.       the READ.ME (this) file.
  149.  
  150. 2.    USING the LCHESS DEMO
  151.  
  152.       LCHESS DEMO can be startind by clicking its icon.
  153.  
  154.       The chess pieces can be moved with the mouse by pointing at the
  155.       desired piece, press and hold the left button, drag the piece to
  156.       the wanted location, releasing the button will drop the piece and
  157.       issue a move to the chess brain.
  158.  
  159.       From the help menu you may call extensive on-line help. NOTE: The
  160.       on-line help is identical to the full version, thus not all the
  161.       functions described in the online help are available.
  162.  
  163.       In the various dialogs you can get help by pressing F1.
