<p align="justify">Webaroo has assembled a world-class team of computer scientists and engineers to build the offline web technology. There are two critical components at the core of Webaroo technology: one is a system designed to maximize Content DensityΓäó and the other is our Smart CachingΓäó technology. <br /><br />

Content Density</b><br /><br />
Webaroo servers crawl the web, analyze web pages and select the subset of pages that maximize Content Density (i.e. the most content value in the least storage size). Webaroo determines the content value based on the diversity and quality of the pages. The more diverse the set of pages, the more queries they are likely to be able to answer. The more high quality the pages, the more likely they are to contain meaningful information for users. Take an analogy from the print world. If you had to take only one book with you on a road-trip that could answer almost any query what would it be? Most likely, it would be an encyclopedia because it has such high content density.
Our content density software can be focused on the whole web, or on those parts of the web having to do with a specific topic (baseball, for example). The subset of pages it selects is packaged into a "web pack". A web pack is, quite simply, a collection of web pages, along with other meta-data that enables caching, search and updates to that subset of pages.<br /><br />
<b>
Smart Caching</b><br /><br />
Users can download selected web packs from Webaroo servers. Users can also download their favorite web sites. Webaroo users have client software installed on their laptops and mobile devices that allows Webaroo to be smart in the way it updates the content users have downloaded. When users connect their mobile devices to the Internet, the client software checks with the server to see if there are any updates available. Different web packs may update at different frequencies, depending on the nature of content (e.g. news changes more frequently than, say, restaurant reviews). These updates may be incremental i.e. broken into smaller chunks and downloaded over a period of time. As new updates are downloaded, the caching system also expires old pages, so that the web packs do not consume more than the allotted space. The updates are also interruptible, so if the user disconnects in a hurry and later re-connects, the update will continue where it left off.</p><br />

<p>If you plan to add an Intranet site or a site that does not require the proxy server setting, you can type the site URL in the No Proxy For box. To add more than one site in this box, separate the sites with a comma(,).</p>
<li>In the Updates section, click your preferred update options. When the <b>Automatic</b> option is selected, Webaroo will update the content after an interval of 24 hours.</li>

You will need an Internet connection while you download and update web content. We recommend a high speed broadband connection with unlimited access plan for downloading content. <br />
We also recommend you have at least 1 GB of available disk space to download your favorite web content in Webaroo.

To add a web site click on the Add Web Sites link in your Library. Enter details of the web site you want to add and then click Add to My Library. <br /><br />
Once you add a web site, content download starts automatically. At other times, you can also manually start the download from your Library. Please note that it may take several minutes to download a web site for the first time. You can check the status of content downloads/updates on the status window. You can access the status window by clicking the Status Window link on the Content page or right-clicking the icon on your taskbar. Closing the status window does not affect download.

<p align="justify"><b>2) What does “Link Depth” mean?</b><br /><br />
Link Depth refers to the number of pages to be downloaded from the given site. With a Link depth of '0', Webaroo fetches only the specified page. With a Link depth of '1', Webaroo additionally fetches the pages linked from the specified page. Webaroo does not support a Link Depth greater than ΓÇÿ1ΓÇÖ currently. If you need more pages from a particular site, add the URL of the page from which you want to start to your sites list. You donΓÇÖt have to start on the home page of your favorite sites, you can start anywhere!<br /><br />
With a Link Depth of 1, you have the additional choice, in the Domain Filter option, of downloading all linked pages or just the links that belong to the same web site.

<p align="justify"><b>3) What are the options available while downloading a web site?</b><br /><br />
You have the following options to customize your Web Site<ul>
<li><b>Link Depth:</b> You can select<br/>
- Link Depth 0 to download a single web page.<br />
- Link Depth 1 to download the specified web page and the pages linked to it.</li>
<li>
<b>Images:</b><br />
You can choose to include or exclude images that appear on the Web Site. Excluding images will significantly reduce the space that Web Site occupies on your storage.</li><li><b>
Domain Filter:</b><br />
This option is available if you select a Link Depth of 1. You can choose to download all pages linked to a site or just the ones that are linked to the web page and part of the same web site.</li></ul>
If storage space is a concern, you can exclude images and set the Domain Filter to download only the web pages belonging to the same site. To get the most pages from the site, select Link Depth 1 and the ΓÇÿdownload all pagesΓÇÖ option.

<p align="justify"><b>4) What types of web pages are supported when I add a web site to my library?</b><br /><br />
You can specify any URL that you can open in your browser (intranet or intranet). Currently there are some limitations on the types of web pages that you can download. You may have trouble downloading some pages from a web site that contains one or more of the following components: <ul><li>
Dynamic content using scripting (client or server side)</li>
<li>Flash </li>
<li>Video </li>
<li>Audio</li>
<li>Frames</li>
<li>Web pages requiring authentication (a user name and password)</li></ul>

The time it takes to download a web site depends on the number of links and average size of pages on the web site. Web sites with lots of content and hyperlinks will take longer. You can control the size of the web site download by using the options available on the Add web site page. <br /><br />
Though there isn't a way of knowing the size of a website at given depth in advance, but you can check the size of the download and download progress through the status window. Closing the status window does not affect download.

Adding a Web Pack is simple. Go to your library on Webaroo and click on Add Web Packs. Browse through the list of Web Packs, select a Pack that you want to download. Once you add a Web Pack, content download starts automatically. You can also manually start the download from your Library by clicking on “Update”.
Please note that it may take several minutes to download a Web Pack for the first time. You will see ΓÇ£Not UpdatedΓÇ¥ message in your Library for this pack. You can check the status of content download in the status window, which can be accessed from the top right corner of your library or by right-clicking the icon on your taskbar. Closing the status window does not affect content download.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>4) What is the size of a Web Pack and how long does it take to download?</b><br /><br />
Web packs vary in size depending upon the targeted content. For example, all the city guide packs that contain are available in sizes from 100MB to 250MB. The actual size of a Web Pack may vary over time as content is updated, but it will not grow past the maximum size limit for each Web Pack (in the case of “City Packs” it is 250MB). You can see both the actual “Size” and “Max Size” for each pack in your library view.<br /><br />
The time taken depends on a number of factors including your internet connection speed at the time of download and size of the pack you select. You can continue working on your system while the Web Pack downloads in background. You can track progress in the Webaroo Status Window. Closing the status window does not affect download.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>5) How do I keep my Web Pack updated? How long does it take to update?</b><br /><br />
You can choose how you would like to update your web pack ΓÇô ΓÇ£manuallyΓÇ¥ by clicking on Update button or ΓÇ£automaticallyΓÇ¥ by letting Webaroo update it automatically whenever a new update is available. You can set your content update preferences using Preferences menu in Webaroo.<br /><br />
To update a web pack manually, select the web pack in your Library and click Update button. Whenever updates are available for a web pack you will see a red arrow next to it. You can continue working on your system while the web pack updates and track the download progress through the Webaroo Status Window. Closing the status window does not affect download.<br /><br />
The update time varies based on the content you have. Web pack updates are available at varying frequencies ΓÇô some may be updated once a day, others maybe once a month. Also, web pack updates are often incremental and maybe spread out over time, reducing the time taken for any individual update session.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>6) How do I search or browse a Web Pack?</b><br /><br />
To browse through a web pack click the web pack tab on your Search page, and then click the web pack you want to browse. A web pack has many topics and sub-topics. Browse through a topic to see relevant web content. Click on a web page to view it.<br /><br />
To search within all your web packs, select the only web packs option below the search box from the main Search page, type your search terms in the search box and click Go. If you want to search within a particular web pack, you need to click the Web Packs tab, click your web pack, type your search and click Go.</p>

<p align="justify"><b>3) How do I access Webaroo on my desktop/laptop?</b><br /><br />
Once you install Webaroo, you can start Webaroo by double-clicking the Webaroo desktop icon or through Start menu. Once started, you will see a Webaroo icon in the system tray (typically at the bottom of the screen). Double-click the tray icon to open Webaroo. You can also right-click on the tray icon to access other functionality.

<p align="justify"><b>4) How do I change the Startup preferences for Webaroo?</b><br /><br />
You can change your Startup option from Preferences tab on your top navigation. By default Webaroo will start in background when you start your computer.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>5) How do I download web content into Webaroo?</b><br /><br />
After installing and starting Webaroo, you need to download content. Webaroo makes it really easy to download web content to your local library. Click on the “Content” tab on the home page. Webaroo allows you to quickly and easily download web packs or web sites to your library. Downloading a Web Pack may take several minutes initially as compared to subsequent updates.<br /><br />
We recommend you let the update run in the background. You can check the status of content downloads / updates in the status window, which can be accessed from the top right corner of your library or by right-clicking the icon on your taskbar (note that the status window may already be open, but hidden under other screens). Closing the status window does not affect content download.

<p align="justify"><b>6) How do I search and browse once I have content in My Library?</b><br /><br />
Just click the Search icon in the top navigation bar on Webaroo. You will see a search box that works like any other search engine. Type your query, click Go and you will see matching results from your library. You can search with Webaroo anytime without the need of an Internet connection. <br /><br />
To search or browse within a specific Web Pack, click the Web Pack tab on your Search page, and then click the desired Web Pack. The search box will give you an option to search only that pack. You can also browse through the web pack by clicking on the list of topics and sub-topics, or editorially selected documents under them.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>7) Why are some links on the web pages in Webaroo not working? How do I know which link is working?</b><br /><br />
Some links in a cached page may not work for various reasons. It may be because the linked-to page is not cached, or the link uses Javascript that needs a live connection. In these instances, Webaroo displays an error message. To let you know if a link works before you click on it, Webaroo highlights working links in a blue color, See more information on supported Web Sites <a href="javascript:ShowWebarooHelp(1,602)">here</a>. </p>

<p align="justify"><b>2) What are storage requirements for using Webaroo on my mobile device?</b><br /><br />
Most mobile devices have built-in storage of 64 MB to 256 MB. While it may be sufficient for downloading some web sites or a web pack, we recommend using an removable storage card with Webaroo. Depending upon the slots available your mobile device you could use an SD Card or a CF Card. We recommend cards using cards that start at 512MB. Larger cards will let you take more web content with you.

<p align="justify"><b>3) How do I install and run Webaroo on my mobile device?</b><br /><br />
When you connect your mobile device to a computer that has Webaroo installed on it, the Webaroo status window pops up automatically. If the status window does not appear automatically, you can access it by right-clicking the Webaroo icon on your taskbar. Please note that Microsoft ActiveSync should be running and must recognize your device for you to install and run Webaroo.<br /><br />
On your status window in the mobile devices section, click on the Install button to install to your mobile device. Once Webaroo is installed, you can copy content to your mobile device from your Library. After you copy content, you can disconnect and start using Webaroo on your mobile device. <br /><br />
You can start Webaroo by clicking the Webaroo icon in the Start menu, or through the shortcut icon on the screen of your mobile device. Alternatively you can open Webaroo from your Programs folder. Once Webaroo opens in a your web browser, search and browse for content in the same way you use Webaroo on your laptop or desktop.

<p align="justify"><b>4) How do I synchronize (copy) content on mobile device?</b><br /><br />
Once you have connected your mobile device to your computer you will see a list of storage locations (internal memory and removable cards) available on your mobile device in the My Library section of Webaroo. To copy content to you mobile device, select content from your Library and from the Copy to drop-down list, select the place you want to put Webaroo content. You can continue working on your system while the content is copied and track the download progress through the Webaroo Status Window. Closing the status window does not affect the download.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>5) Why do I see multiple storage cards when I connect my mobile device?</b><br /><br />
Once you have connected your mobile device to your computer, Webaroo automatically recognizes all the storage options available on your mobile device -<br />
<ul><li>
Internal memory on your mobile device. Typically this is in the range of 64MB to 256 MB. Make sure your content fits in this space if you plan to use this storage</li>
<li>Removable SD Card. Webaroo recommends using a card with minimum of 512 MB capacity.</li>
<li>Removable CF Card. Webaroo recommends using a card with minimum of 512 MB capacity.</li> </ul>

<p align="justify"><b>6) How do I know the space I have remaining on a storage card?</b><br /><br />
Click the mobile device in your Library under the Mobile Devices section. On the upper-right corner, below the navigation bar you see the space available as well as the size of the Webaroo content on your storage card. </p>
<p align="justify"><b>7) How can I update content on my mobile device?</b><br /><br />
All you need to do is connect your mobile device to your laptop/desktop. If Webaroo is running on your laptop/desktop, Webaroo automatically updates the content on your mobile device.

<p align="justify"><b>8) What are the storage requirements for Webaroo on my mobile device?</b><br /><br />
How much storage you need depends on how much content you want to carry with you. A 512 MB or 1 GB card is ideal, even though Webaroo will work with as little as 64 MB storage. <br /><br />
Also, you do not need storage that is dedicated to Webaroo usage, you could insert a 1 GB card and use it for Webaroo as well as other applications.<br /><br />You can never be too rich, too kind, or have too much storage!</p><br /><br />

<h4>Troubleshooting</h4>
<p align="justify"><b>1) How do I set my proxy settings to access Webaroo?</b><br /><br />
To set proxy settings go to the Preferences page Webaroo. In the Connection Settings section, type your HTTP server IP address and Port in the corresponding text boxes (Currently Webaroo only supports HTTP proxy servers)<br />
Enter your authentication information for the proxy server. If your network has a domain, in the User Name box, type your domain name followed by your user name. (E.g. domain-name\user-name) <br />
If you plan to add an Intranet site or a site that does not require the proxy server setting, you can type the site URL in the “No Proxy For” box. To add more than one site in this box, separate the sites with a comma.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>2) My anti-virus software gives me a security alert when I try to run Webaroo on my computer, what do I do?</b><br /><br />
Most anti-virus software will give you an alert message when you use programs that require online access. You can safely grant access for Webaroo. Webaroo will only use the online connection to download content that you ask it to get.

<p align="justify"><b>3) I am unable to proceed with installation due to “.Net” related issues. What do I do?</b> <br /><br />
Webaroo requires .Net version 1.1 or 2.0 to be installed on your computer. If the required .Net version is not detected on your machine during installation, Webaroo will try to fetch appropriate .Net package from Microsoft site and install it on your computer. If for some reason the auto-installation fails, you will have to download the .Net package from <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en" target="_blank">here</a> and install it manually before proceeding with installation. </p>
<p align="justify"><b>4) I cannot add web site on Webaroo, what could be going wrong?</b><br /><br />
Please read the <a href="javascript:ShowWebarooHelp(1,602)">Web Site</a> section to find out the currently supported web content types. If the content on the pages you are trying to download is supported by Webaroo, please check your internet connection and try again.

<p align="justify"><b>5) How do I change my default browser to Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox?</b><br /><br />
Although we recommend using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, Webaroo should work well with most browsers. If for some reason you are not able to use Webaroo on your browser, here's how you can change your default browser.
For Internet Explorer<blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 10px 10px">
1. Open Internet Explorer.<br />
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.<br />
3. Click the Programs tab.<br />
4. Select the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser box and click OK.<br />
5. Close all your web browser windows. <br />
6. When you next access the web using Internet Explorer, click Yes on the dialog box to make Internet Explorer the default browser.</blockquote><br />
For Mozilla Firefox<blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 10px 10px">

<p align="justify"><b>6) What ActiveSync version is supported by Webaroo?</b> <br /><br />
Use the ActiveSync version that came with your mobile device. If for some reason you do not have the CD or you need to reinstall ActiveSync, you can download it from following links. Webaroo supports version 3.8 and versions 4.1 and later.<br /><ul><li>
<p align="justify"><b>7) What ActiveSync configuration should I use to Sync Webaroo content between my laptop/desktop and my mobile device?</b><br /><br />
You can continue to use your current option (Standard or Guest partnership). Webaroo only requires that ActiveSync is running and in ΓÇ£ConnectedΓÇ¥ state. If you do not use ActiveSync for other applications, we recommend that you use the ΓÇ£Guest partnershipΓÇ¥ option. You do not need to set any special configurations in ActiveSync to copy content from your laptop/desktop to your mobile device.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>8) Webaroo is not recognizing my mobile device. Status Window continues to say “Mobile Device not connected” even after I have connected my device. What can I do?</b><br /><br />
First , please check the connectivity between your computer and mobile device. Disconnect and reconnect mobile device and ensure that ActiveSync is running and in “connected” state. If the problem persists, we recommend you do a soft reboot on your mobile device to clear any processes that may not be responding, and try again.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>9) I am having trouble upgrading Webaroo on my mobile device, what do I do?</b><br /><br />
Webaroo will automatically upgrade the software version on your Mobile to keep it in sync with the version on your Laptop/Desktop. However, for some reason if it is unable to auto-upgrade it will give following message ΓÇô “Could not upgrade”. First , please check the connectivity between your computer and your device. Disconnect and reconnect mobile device and ensure that ActiveSync is running and in “connected” state. Also make sure you exit Webaroo on device. If the problem persists, we recommend you do a soft reboot on your mobile device to clear any processes that may not be responding, and try again.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>10) How do I uninstall Webaroo on my laptop/desktop?</b><br /><br />
You can uninstall Webaroo from the Webaroo folder in the Windows start menu or by using Add/Remove program option in Control Panel. Please follow on-screen instructions to complete installation process.<br /><br />
During the uninstallation, you will be asked if you want to remove Webaroo content. We recommend that you retain the content so that you can use the web packs and web sites when you install Webaroo again.</p>
<p align="justify"><b>11) How do I uninstall Webaroo on my mobile?</b><br /><br />
You can uninstall Webaroo from the status window. First connect your mobile device to your computer and then click the Uninstall link under the mobile devices section. <br /><br />
You can access the status window by clicking the Status Window link on the Content page or right-clicking the icon on your taskbar.

<li>Webaroo does not support proxy servers other than the HTTP servers.</li>
<li>You may not be able to uninstall or upgrade Webaroo on your mobile device when Webaroo is running on the device.</li>
<li>The progress bar for mobile device in the status window starts after some delay.</li>
<li>Webaroo may not show the correct available storage space on the storage card throughout a session.</li>
<li>You cannot install Webaroo on a Laptop or Desktop computer using a Guest login user account.</li>
<li>The My Web Sites section of Webaroo does not support secure HTTP pages and pages that require you to log on with a user id and password. You also cannot add a web site that is the URL of a image.</li></ul>
