  62. You may give a copy of your Operation: Inner Space demo to others, but may not 
  63. distribute Operation: Inner Space for direct or indirect profit by any means, except

  66. INSTALLING
  67. You must first be in the Windows environment to install Inner Space.
  68. 1) Run SETUP.EXE, the Inner Space installer.  
  69. 2) Install Inner Space to a new directory (C:\SPACE by default) or over an
  70. existing copy of Inner Space to upgrade it.

  72. STARTING TO PLAY
  73. Run Inner Space (INSPACE.EXE) from Windows.  During the game intro, press 'ESC' to
  74. start a new game. Select a ship to fly into Inner Space.  To start playing, just 
  75. use the arrow keys (Thrust=UP, Turn=LEFT, RIGHT, Brake=DOWN). Use Shift or SPACEBAR
  76. to shoot. For more information about the game, see the online help (press F1 or F2).

  78. SCREEN SAVERS 
  79. Inner Space comes with a configurable screen saver interface so that a changing
  80. game demonstration can be your screen saving display.

  82. SHIP FACTORY
  83. With the Inner Space Ship Factory, you can view all the ships in the game
  84. and compare their characteristics.  You can also use the Factory to make 
  85. customized ships for use in Inner Space!

  87. TECH SUPPORT
  88. We provide tech suppport by phone, fax, email, and regular mail.  If you have access 
  89. to CompuServe, GO GAMDPUB and look in section 18 (Software Dynamics) for Inner Space 
  90. upgrades, hints, and technical support.

  92. If reporting a problem with the game, we ask that you tell us if you can repeat the 
  93. problem yourself and provide all information necessary for us to repeat the problem.  
  94. If we can't repeat the problem, it will be very hard to fix it.
  95.  
  96. MEMORY
  97. If the game halts with an error, it may be that Windows is low on memory.  
  98. Please check that Windows is set up to use at least 2Mb of virtual memory.  To see or 
  99. change Virtual Memory settings, open the "386 Enhanced" item from the Windows Control
  100. Panel (CONTROL.EXE).
  101.  
  102. VIDEO DRIVERS
  103. Inner Space has been extensively tested on many different systems.  However, there may 
  104. be problems with the drivers for some high-performance video cards.  We have to devise 
  105. workarounds for such video cards. If you encounter a problem when the game is loading 
  106. graphics, it is probably a video driver problem.  Try turning Enhanced Graphics off. 
  107. If that doesn't help, select VGA or SVGA from Windows Setup as your Display type. When 
  108. you run the game again, if the problem does not occur, the problem is definitely with 
  109. the video driver and we will work on a fix ASAP.

  111. MIDI MUSIC
  112. If Inner Space's midi music has incorrect or missing instruments, you may need to set
  113. up your MIDI mapper (in the Windows Control Panel).  For Enhanced midi sound cards like
  114. the SB Pro, only channels 1-10 are used.  For Basic midi sound cards, only channels 
  115. 11-16 of the soundtrack are used.
