In the Time Warner Dogs and Cats Forum you can download articles from an extensive library collection. Example files include: "Teaching the Recall" from How To Be Your Dog's Best Friend, "Training With the Combined Approach" from Dog World Magazine, and from Good Owners, Great Dogs; "Come - For Puppies," "Come - For Adult Dogs," "Introducing Your Pup to the Lead" and "Understanding Your Dog."
You'll also be able to find conferences and scheduled events you can depend on. Conferences on the first Tuesday of every month are for sighthound enthusiasts. On alternate Sunday evenings, you can talk to a variety of special guests online. There's also a special section entitled "Good Dog!" that deals with animal products and a special feature called "Saying Goodbye" that helps owners cope with a sick or dying pet.

More on Sighthounds...
There are several breeds that have keener vision than most dogs and use that sense more than smell or hearing. The best known of these are greyhounds, Italian greyhounds, whippets, Afghans, Borzois, and Irish wolfhounds. Most of the wolfhound breeds are also in this category. This group is composed of owners and fanciers of these breeds, and it is led by Paul Byther, who raises and races greyhounds in Tampa, Florida. The talk is primarily about racing and lure coursing, as well as breeding and training these dogs.
More on Featured Special Guests...
The conferences on alternate Sunday evenings are sponsored by Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a rescue organization with affiliates worldwide. Their sanctuary in Angel Canyon in Utah (just north of the Grand Canyon) houses hundreds of dogs, cats, birds, horses, and other animals which would have been destroyed otherwise. It's one of a group of no kill shelters that has grown in popularity with the animal welfare movement. Topics for these conferences include spaying/neutering pets, rescue efforts in natural disasters, communicating with animals and pet loss/bereavement.

The Time Warner Dogs and Cats Forum also has an exclusive arrangement with Ross Becker, publisher of Good Dog! magazine and CATsumer Report to be the sole online repository of articles from that publication. That's what the Good Dog! section is all about. The articles include consumer surveys, product reviews, investigative reports on pet products, and similar topics. Ross is the leader for that section: Michael Mountain is director of the Best Friends section. The Saying Goodbye section is led by Marion Hale, a frequent guest speaker in the Sunday conferences!
