Transcription: A comic book's collectability depends on a few factors, two of which are quantifiable, supply and demand, like any commodity. Sometimes there's a third factor that determines a comic book's value, and that is what a collector is willing to pay for it. If a particular book has strong nostalgic value, a collector will pay for more than its quote-unquote book value. Generally, though, the most valuable comic books are the ones that contain a major character's first appearance, like Batman, Superman, or Spider-Man, are in short supply, and are desirable among collectors.
