- Frostys Arctic Hellhole.
- Mission Data: Competence level required: Intermediate.
- Mission Type: Covert attack.
- Terrain: Ice
- Topography: Flat
- Visibility status: Daylight.
- No. of tanks at your command: Check section briefings.
-
- Scenario:
- Routine air reconnaissance missions over the arctic have discovered an
- enemy oil-field operating just within allied territory. Since it is doubtful
- that control of the oil-field, or a share in its produce, could
- be gained through diplomatic channels, it has been decided to
- launch a covert offensive and take the oil-field by force.
-
- Objective:
- If enemy forces within response vicinity are alerted to the attack, they
- will no doubt launch a counter offensive which would jeopardize the success
- of the mission. As part of the secondary wave of the allied task force, your
- overall objective will be to prevent oil-field guards from radioing for
- assistance. Your drop off point will be a bay on the north west of the
- island.
-
- Section A:
-
-
- The allied attack on the oil-field has begun...
-
- Several enemy skidoos (fast snow vehicles) have been dispatched from
- the site and are heading toward the radio base situated east of your
- current position.
-
- Objective: Destroy enemy skidoos before they reach the radio station.
- Neutralise radio station to prevent any subsequent enemy attempts to
- call for assistance.
-
- Addition: Enemy oil-field guards are armed with rocket launchers.
-
- Number of tanks at your command: One - armed with normal shells,
- co-axial machine-gun and two guided missiles.
-
- Section B:
-
-
- Several enemy tanks have been deployed from an air base on the South
- East tip of the island and are heading north toward the oil-fields.
- If they reach their destination, the allied offensive will be
- compromised.
-
- Objective: Engage and destroy tanks before they reach the oil-fields.
-
- Number of tanks at your command: Three - Two tanks have landed at your
- initial starting point. They are heavily armed with a full consignment
- of weapon types.
-
- Section C:
-
-
- While the air base remains operational, it represents a danger to the
- allied operation. There may be more enemy tanks ready to be deployed
- and planes could be landed to drop off troops or vehicles.
-
- Objective: Your tanks are all situated at the wrecked radio mast. Head
- south from this starting point and destroy the air base.
-
- Targets: Tanks, Skidoos and infantry will be patrolling the route to
- the air base. Use long range weapons to take out heavy artillery from
- a safe distance.
-
- Number of tanks at your command: Three
-
- Section D:
-
-
- Allied ships in the area have spotted a Submarine base on the western
- shore of the island. This base represents another threat to the
- offensive as subs could radio for assistance or be deployed to attack
- allied ships.
-
- Objective: Head north west to the base and destroy it.
- Caution - Satellite pictures show that the route is heavily defended.
-
- Targets: Tanks - Several squadrons of enemy T-72s are known to be
- stationed in this part of the island.
- Skidoos.
- Infantry.
-
- Number of tanks at your command: Three
-
- Section E:
-
-
- Air recon has reported that all enemy troops are retreating toward a
- large building in the centre of the island. The building has been
- identified as a science research centre.
-
- Objective: Eliminate remaining enemy infantry, but DO NOT destroy
- research centre - it may contain valuable information. Capture
- scientists for interrogation.
-
- Number of tanks at your command: Three.
