  6. The blitzkriege into Russia has ended. Now shivering in the cold, the men of
  7. the 74th Infantry Regiment held a thin line in the Russian Front. All hope of
  8. a quiet winter was shattered as a hail of artillery fire fell upon them. In
  9. minutes the clanking sound of oncoming T-34's would signal the start of the
  10. Russian Winter Counter Offensive. Hoping to slow down the Soviets long 
  11. enough till reinforcements arrived, the Germans opened up on them. With a
  12. loud "Uraah!" the Siberians of the 63rd Division surged forward, the battle
  13. had commenced.
