  3. We have just received word that the 2nd Para Battalion of the 1st Para division is 
  4. still holding out in Arnhem. However, the Germans still hold Nijmegen and the 
  5. bridge over the Waal River. the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division has been unable to 
  6. secure this crucial bridge. due to heavy German resistance. Your orders are to clear 
  7. the town and to capture the bridge before the Germans blow it up. Failure could 
  8. mean heavy losses for the trapped British paratroopers in Arnhem.
