  6. Merry ist von einem bösen alten Weidenbaum gefangengenommen
  7. worden. Alle Rettungsversuche von Frodo und Sam scheinen
  8. fehlzuschlagen! Eine scheinbar ausweglose Situation...

  10. But Frodo, without any clear idea of why he did so, or
  11. what he hoped for, ran along th path crying "help! help!"
  12.

  15. He felt desperate: lost and witless.
  16.  
  17.    Wer einmal das mysteriöse Verhalten von Calamus beim
  18.    kopieren von Elementen aus dem Clipboard in ein anderes
  19.    Dokument erlebt hat, der weiß, wie es dem armen Frodo
  20.    geht.
  21.    Aber dann kommt Tom Bombadil...

  25. A deep glad voice was singing carelessly and happily, but
  26. it was singing nonsense:

  28. "Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dillo!
  29.  Ring a dong! hop along! fal lal the willow!
  30.  Tom Bom, jolly Tom, Tom Bombadillo."

  32. Half hopeful and half afraid of some new danger, Frodo
  33. and Sam now both stood still. Suddenly out of a long string
  34. of nonsense-words (or so they seemed) the voice rose up
  35. loud and clear and burst into this song:

  37. "Hey Come merry dol! derry dol! My darling!
  38.  Light goes the weather-wind and the feathered starling.
  39.  Down along under Hill, shining in the sunlight,
  40.  Waiting on the doorstep for the cold starlight,
  41.  There my pretty lady is, River-woman's daughter,
  42.  Slender as the willow-wand, clearer than the water.
  43.  Old Tom Bombadil walter-lilies bringing
  44.  Comes hopping home again. Can you hear him singing?
  45.  Hey! Come merry dol! derry dol! and merry-o,
  46.  Goldberry, Goldberry, merry yellow berry-o!
  47.  Poor old Willow-man, you tuck your roots away!
  48.  Tom's in a hurry now. Evening will follow day.
  49.  Tom's going home again water-lilies bringing.
  50.  Hey! Come derry dol! Can you hear me singing?"

  54. Natürlich wurden unsere Helden gerettet, und damit in weitere
  55. spannende Abenteuer gestürzt, nachdem sie eine glückliche Zeit
  56. mit Tom und seiner Goldberry verbringen durften. Es wurde viel
  57. gesungen, gefeiert...
  58.  
  59.    BOMBADIL erschien uns ein angemessener Name für dieses
  60.    Modul, das einen schweren Fehler im Calamus erkennt und
  61.    beim Auftreten behebt.

  63.    Wenn die Abenteuer von Frodo und Co. interessieren, dem
  64.    sei hier wärmstens die Lektüre des großartigen Werkes von
  65.    J.R.R. (John Ronald Reuel) Tolkien empfohlen...
