- This version of POV-Ray for the Atari computer system is not official. If you
- have problems or questions you should contact me not the POV-Ray Team. They
- won't give support for unofficial versions.
-
-
- 2. Copying/Distribution
- -----------------------
-
- This software is free under the term of the POV-Ray Team. See 'POVLEGAL.DOC'
- included in this archive for more information.
-
-
- 3. Features
- -----------
-
- - has built-in displaying feature (POV-Ray switch '+d')
-
- - while using the displaying feature it is a real GEM program and uses it's
- own built-in console window for fast textstream output
- - while not using displaying it's behaviour is the same like a normal TTP-
- program. You can run POV inside of any console window.
-
- - works with every TOS version on every Atari compatible computer system
- - works in all screen resolutions even if you use the displaying feature
-
-
- 4. Archive Contents
- -------------------
-
- There are two archives available. The first contains only executables of POV-
- Ray 3.02. The second contains all include files, documentation and all sample
- scenes of the standard POV-Ray distribution for other systems.

-
- Archive 1 - POV302B.ZIP:
-
- POVRAY.302/Bin/ - contains Atari executables
- history.txt - changes made to the Atari version of POV-Ray
- pov302st.gtp - this file is for plain Atari ST's without FPU.
- pov302tt.gtp - this file is especially done for use with at
- least MC68020 and a FPU. It won't work without!
- povray.ini - a sample .ini file
- problems.txt - know problems of this Atari version of POV-Ray
- POVRAY.302/readme.txt - the file you're reading

-
- 5. Technical Details
- --------------------
-
- This version of POV-Ray was build using the following environment:
-
- - Power Macintosh 7500 running MagiCMac 2.05
- - Pure C 1.1 & Interface 2.20
-
- - slightly improved Unix source code of POV-Ray 3.02
- - Floyd-Steinberg dithering algorithm made by Kay Roemer
- - ColorIcon routines made by Thomas Binder
-
- This version runs very well on my system. It was tested on a wide range of
- different Atari systems, too. If you find a bug please contact me. My contact
- address will be found later in this document.
-
-
- 6. Note for POVShell users
- --------------------------
-
- You can still use POVShell with the new POV-Ray 3.01. To use some of the new
- features be sure to enable FTPOV-Ray 2.1 support. Dieter Bayer - author of
- FTPOV-Ray - joined the POV-Ray team. Therefore all functions and speed
- improvements work in the same way.
-
-
