TILES & TRIBULATIONS Tiles & Tribulations is a board game played on a grid consisting of 15 squares (tiles) and one blank. The object is to match the ending position of the four gold squares and the blank with your choice of one of the twelve patterns that are illustrated on the screen. The game will keep track of your moves so that you can try to better your score or compete with a friend. You may move up to three squares at a time, so don't waste moves by shifting one square when you can move two or three together to constitute one move. The game will prompt you to choose a starting position. Click with the left mouse button on the pattern you wish to start from. Once you have done this, the playing board will set up and you will be prompted to choose an ending pattern. If you wish, you may play around with the game board to see how the squares move before selecting the ending pattern. When you are ready to play, select the ending pattern in the same way you selected the starting pattern. The game board will reset itself and a box will appear around the pattern you will be attempting to copy. Should you make a mistake and wish to start from zero again, just click on the ending pattern again and the game board will reset itself. In order to change the starting position, you must either complete the current game or exit to the table of contents and then return. Once you have completed a game, the gold squares will change color. Then you will be prompted to choose a new starting position. Remember your score in case you want to try the same pattern again to improve your record. Good luck!
