  1. Thexder Demo Readme File

  3. This demo of Thexder is designed to only work on Windows 95. It will not 
  4. run under any other operating systems. 
  5.  
  6. 1. For faster loading and gameplay, you can copy the entire Thexder game 
  7. onto your hard drive. After you run the setup program, copy all game files
  8. to your SIERRA\THEXDER directory. Then change your Thexder shortcut 
  9. in Windows 95 to point to c:\SIERRA\THEXDER\THEXDER.EXE.

  11. 2. When Windows 95 is focused on Thexder, it will not allow sounds for 
  12. other applications to play. To do so, exit THEXDER and run your desired 
  13. application.

  15. 3. To connect in Modem Play, first choose FILE|CONNECT  and
  16. select MODEM PLAY. The fastest of the two computers(MASTER) 
  17. should CREATE a game. After the game begins the other computer should 
  18. select JOIN and dial out to the MASTER computer. When the computers
  19. connect, each player will see the other player's name in his communication
  20. window.

  22. There are several limitations that have been placed on this demo.

  24. 1. In the demo, there are only 5 levels in the single-player game. In the full 
  25. game there are 50 levels.

  27. 2. In the demo, the only available graphic resolution is low resolution.
  28.  In the full game there are three resolutions-low, medium, and high.
  29.  
  30. 3. In the demo, modem and network play only support one level in which 
  31. to play. In the full game there are over 32,000 random levels that may be
  32. selected in network play.

  34. 4. In the demo, network play only allows three players to play at once.
  35. In the full game ten players may play at once.
