  1. DOOM WADS

  3. If you're wondering what to do with a Doom WAD once you copy it into your 
  4. DOOM or DOOM2 directory, here are a few tips.
  5.  
  6. There's usually a TXT file for you to read, and some even include a batch 
  7. file for loading the WAD. If you're left clueless, the standard procedure 
  8. is to type:    DOOMX -FILE WADNAME.WAD
  9.  
  10. * where DOOMX = your Doom executable command, either DOOM or DOOM2 
  11. * where -FILE = would appear just as it is 
  12. * where WADNAME.WAD = is the name of the WAD file you wish to load
  13.  
  14. i.e. To run the HOTLHELL.WAD for Doom 2, type:  
  15. DOOM2 -FILE HOTLHELL.WAD.
  16.  
  17. This doesn't always work, they're just general guidelines. As with all WADS, 
  18. updates, add-ons or patches make sure your original files are backed up. PC 
  19. Gamer will not accept any responsibility for problems caused by these files.
