  5. SuperShow is used world wide to create multimedia magazines and
  6. publications on disk and CD-ROM.  And with the features of
  7. SuperShow 5, you have the most versatile publishing system
  8. available for DOS and Windows.
  9.  
  10. You are not confined to pre-defined text boxes and buttons. You
  11. may create your own or you use the ones that come with your
  12. SuperShow Multimedia Authoring system.
  13.  
  14. Among the tutorial scripts you received with the registered
  15. version of SuperShow is PUBLISH.SPT.  This tutorial creates a
  16. mini-magazine with a Table of Contents, 4 articles and an end
  17. program option.  In addition, you will see how you can show an
  18. animation sequence while waiting for your user to click a
  19. button or press a key.  Check it out to see the basics of
  20. publishing with SuperShow 5.

  22. SuperShow 5 is used to create LiveWire Magazine, the monthly
  23. multimedia magazine for the GEnie Online Service.  When you
  24. order our supplemental disk package, we will send you the
  25. latest compiled version along with the actual script so you can
  26. see how to create a full featured multimedia publication.

  30. Here are some particulars regarding the new scrolling features
  31. found in SuperShow 5.0:
  32.  
  33. We have created 10 mouse buttons exclusively for text
  34. scrolling. These 10 scrolling buttons are in addition to the 22
  35. mouse hot spots available outside the text scrolling boxes.
  36.  
  37. These mouse scroll buttons are entirely programmable by you.
  38. You may define the size, shape and location of the mouse
  39. buttons as well as the size of your text box.  6 of the mouse
  40. buttons are programmed to perform text scrolling features such
  41. as page down, line down, top of file (home), end of file (end)
  42. and so forth. The other 4 mouse text buttons are used to branch
  43. forward, backward, to totally different line labels or for use
  44. as a hot-button.  (Note: At this point in this presentation,
  45. the Previous and Contents buttons will return you to the
  46. Control Panel main menu, Next will pop-up another text box.)
  47.  
  48. In addition, you may actually show the button being pressed as
  49. we have done in this script.  You may create the style and
  50. shape of your own buttons or use the ones we have included with
  51. your software.  You do NOT have to have these button images
  52. present to use the text scrolling.  If SuperShow doesn't find
  53. them, it will continue as normal.

  59. Each of the mouse buttons has an associated keystroke(s) so
  60. your user may use the mouse or keyboard.  As a matter of fact,
  61. you don't have to use the mouse or mouse buttons at all.  You
  62. may instruct your user to simply use the key board for text
  63. scrolling.

  65. The PgDn button uses the PgDn cursor key.  The PgUp button uses
  66. the PgUp cursor key.  The Home button uses the Home cursor key.
  67. The End button uses the End cursor key.  The line up button
  68. uses the up arrow cursor key.  The line down button uses the
  69. down arrow cursor key. The Exit button uses the Esc key.  The
  70. Previous button uses the F9 function key.  The Next button uses
  71. the F10 function key and, finally, the F2 function key is
  72. associated with the hot-button.  Pressing the Enter key also
  73. activates the Next button. Pressing the space bar also
  74. activates the PgDn button.
