- Help
- In order to highlight a menu entry, use the keypad
- or the mouse. The PgUp key brings you to the top of
- the list, End to the bottom (Close command); the Up
- and Down Arrow keys step you through. To execute a
- highlighted command, click the Left mouse button or
- hit Enter. Command line parameters are typed in from
- the keyboard, DOS-fashion. Function keys F1-F10 give
- current parameters (press Alt and F1-F10 for a list).
-
- Alt-H gives help for the highlighted menu entry.
-
- To leave the WAVmaker Amplitude DSP Menu, press Esc,
- click the Right mouse button or execute the Close
- command.
-
- Execute the Help command (hit Enter) for extensive
- online help.
-
- The WAVmaker menu system (including this text) is
- user-configurable. See online help for details!

- ReadDir
- Browse a listing of the temporary file directory
- (exit with Esc or Right mouse button).
-
- This is the directory where WAVmaker puts files
- created for its internal use and the place where
- PRGed should be instructed to put temporary WAV
- files created for use with an external player.
- It is also the recommended site for DSP and file
- conversion operations.

- WAVmix
- Mix down multiple WAV files (or just one - useful for
- format conversions). Default output format is stereo,
- 16 bits, 44.1 kHz.
-
- Usage: WAVmix <source #1> [<source #2> ...]
- <destination>
-
- The default extension is WAV. Source files
- may NOT be overwritten.
-
- Options: /a <factor L>[:<factor R>]
-
- (amplify left[:right] channel of preceding
- <source #x> by a real factor)
-
- /m (create single-channel WAV file)
- /8b (create 8-bit WAV file)
- /11k (create 11025 Hz WAV file)

- Usage: Maximize <source> <destination>
-
- The default extension is WAV. The source
- file may NOT be overwritten.
-
- Options: /l (affect left channel only)
- /r (affect right channel only)
- /w <start>:<end> (effect window)
- /q (quiet mode: no screen output)
-
- Window times are in milliseconds.

- Compress
- Modify the dynamic range.
-
- Usage: Compress <source> <destination>
- <HHF> <compression>
-
- <HHF> (Hz) controls low pass filtering of the
- sound for amplitude determination (see Low
- Pass). Keep it low (15 or so). <compression>
- is a real value. When > 0, the dynamic range
- is reduced; 1 removes "all" dynamics. Negative
- values heighten the dynamics.
-
- The default extension is WAV. The source file
- may NOT be overwritten.
-
- Options: /l (affect left channel only)
- /r (affect right channel only)
- /a <amplification>
- /w <start>:<end> (effect window times in ms)
- /q (quiet mode: no screen output)

- Fade
- Amplify a sound section by a linearly varying, real
- factor.
-
- Usage: Fade <source> <destination>
- <start time>:<end time>
- <start factor>[:<end factor>]
-
- Start and end times are expressed in
- milliseconds. Specifying no end factor
- results in constant amplification by the
- start factor. An <end time> exceeding
- file size causes the acual file end time
- to be used.
-
- The default extension is WAV. The source
- file may NOT be overwritten.
-
- Options: /l (affect left channel only)
- /r (affect right channel only)
- /q (quiet mode: no screen output)

- Gate
- Suppress sections below the threshold level.
-
- Usage: Gate <source> <destination> <threshold>
- <attack time>:<release time>
-
- The threshold is in parts of 32768, with
- 32768 denoting max amplitude. Attack and
- release (i.e. fade in and fade out) times
- are expressed in milliseconds.
-
- The default extension is WAV. The source
- file may NOT be overwritten.
-
- Options: /l (affect left channel only)
- /r (affect right channel only)
- /w <start>:<end> (effect window)
- /q (quiet mode: no screen output)
-
- Window times are in milliseconds.

- file are read from Temp\PRGed.INI if it is
- found, and set to EXE\WAVplay.BAT and to
- Temp\Temp.WAV otherwise.
-
- The default view window contains the whole
- file.
-
- Options: /ss <sample> (view window start sample)
- /es <sample> (view window end sample)
- /st <time> (view window start millisecond)
- /et <time> (view window end millisecond)
