1.0 PRODUCT LICENSE INFORMATION

UPON PAYMENT BY USER OF THE REGISTRATION FEE SPECIFIED IN THE FILE:

1. LICENSE GRANT. McAfee grants to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable
   right to use the SOFTWARE on file servers connected to a maximum
   number of user computers, or on a maximum number of user computers,
   not exceeding the number of user computers specified on the packaging
   for this product. This license to use the SOFTWARE is conditioned
   upon your compliance with the terms of this Agreement. You agree you
   will only copy the SOFTWARE into any machine-readable or printed form
   as necessary to use it in accordance with this license or for backup
   purposes in support of your use of the SOFTWARE. This license
   is effective until terminated. You may terminate it at any point by
   destroying the SOFTWARE together with all copies of the SOFTWARE.
   Also, McAfee has the option to terminate if you fail to comply with
   any term or condition of this Agreement. You agree upon such
   termination to destroy the SOFTWARE together with all copies of
   the SOFTWARE.

2. COPYRIGHT. The SOFTWARE is protected by United States copyright law
   and international treaty provisions. You acknowledge that no title to
   the intellectual property in the SOFTWARE is transferred to you. You
   further acknowledge that title and full ownership rights to the
   SOFTWARE will remain the exclusive property of McAfee or its
   suppliers, and you will not acquire any rights to the SOFTWARE
   except as expressly set forth in this license. You agree that any
   copies of the SOFTWARE will contain the same proprietary notices
   which appear on and in the SOFTWARE.

3. REVERSE ENGINEERING. You agree that you will not attempt to reverse
   compile, modify, translate, or disassemble the SOFTWARE in whole or
   in part.

4. LIMITED WARRANTY. McAfee warrants that the SOFTWARE will perform
   substantially in accordance with the accompanying written materials
   for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of purchase. Any
   implied warranties relating to the SOFTWARE are limited to thirty
   (30) days.

5. CUSTOMER REMEDIES. If the SOFTWARE does not conform to the limited
   warranty in Section 4 above ("Limited Warranty"), McAfee's entire
   liability and your sole remedy shall be, at McAfee's option, either
   to (a) correct the error or (b) help you work around or avoid the
   error. The Limited Warranty is void if failure of the SOFTWARE has
   resulted from accident, abuse, or misapplication. Any replacement
   SOFTWARE will be warranted for the remainder of the original Limited
   Warranty period.

6. NO OTHER WARRANTIES. McAfee DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE IS
   ERROR FREE. EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY IN SECTION 4
   ("LIMITED WARRANTY"), McAfee DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES WITH
   RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT
   NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY, FITNESS FOR
   A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS.
   SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES
   OR LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY MAY LAST, OR THE
   EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES,
   SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
   THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO

7. SEVERABILITY. In the event of invalidity of any provision of this
   license, the parties agree that such invalidity shall not affect the
   validity of the remaining portions of this license.

8. NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL MCAFEE OR
   ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL,
   INCIDENTAL OR INDIRECT DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF THE
   DELIVERY, PERFORMANCE OR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF MCAFEE HAS
   BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT
   WILL McAfeeÆs LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM, WHETHER IN CONTRACT,
   TORT OR ANY OTHER THEORY OF LIABILITY, EXCEED THE LICENSE FEE
   PAID BY YOU, IF ANY.

9. GOVERNING LAW. This license will be governed by the laws of the
   State of California as they are applied to agreements between
   California residents entered into and to be performed entirely
   within California. The United Nations Convention on Contracts
   for the International Sale of Goods is specifically disclaimed.

10. ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This is the entire agreement between you and
   McAfee which supersedes any prior agreement or understanding,
   whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter of this
   license.

U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS
If this product is acquired under the terms of a (i) Civilian Agency
Contract - use, reproduction or disclosure is subject to
FAR 52.227-19(a) through (d) and restrictions set forth in the
accompanying end user agreement; and (ii) DoD Contract - use,
duplication or disclosure by the Government is subject to the
terms of this license unless superseded by 252.227-7013(c)(1)(ii).

  *   Customers who subscribe to Maintenance (UPDATE SERVICE) will
be entitled to receive all enhancements to the Licensed Software,

4.0 FILE NAMING CONVENTIONS FOR VirusScan

Beginning with VirusScan Version 2.0.0, McAfee will be using a new method of
naming the .ZIP files which contain our programs.  The filename will note the
antivirus products' stock-keeping unit (SKU), its release status, major
version number, and minor version number (if any).

The new method of naming .ZIP files for electronic distribution of our
software is as follows:

{3 char. name} + {1 char status} + {3 char. major ver} + {1 char. minor ver}

The following chart gives some examples of what these can be:

5.0 USING THE VALIDATE FEATURE

VALIDATE is a file-authentication program that may be used to check
other programs for signs of tampering.  VALIDATE uses two discrete
methods to generate Cyclic Redundancy Checks (CRC's), which are then
displayed for the user to compare against the known value for the
program(s) validated.  The known validation data can be published by
the author of the program or be obtained from a trusted information
database.  The dual CRC checking provides a high degree of security.

     To confirm that a program is in its original, untampered state,
run the VALIDATE program on it, record the validation data produced,
and compare it against the record in the on-line database.  If they
match, than it is highly improbable that the program has been modified.

To run VALIDATE, type:

     VALIDATE <path spec>

where <pathspec> is the name of a file or directory.  The wildcard
characters, "*" and "?", may be used when specifying <pathspec>/
