  38. In a grid with numbered tiles, the objective is to arrange the tiles in the 
  39. correct numeric sequence. You arrange the tiles by moving them around the grid. 
  40. A move is made by clicking a tile adjacent to the empty square.  This moves the 
  41. tile to the empty square.  You continue shuffling the tiles until you have 
  42. successfully arranged the tiles in numeric sequence.

  47. Mosaic can be played at different levels of difficulty using the skill level 
  48. and grid setting.

  50. There are three skill levels available in Mosaic.  They are Beginner, 
  51. Intermediate, and Advanced.  The higher the skill level, the more jumbled up 
  52. the tiles are.  To choose a skill level, select Beginner, Intermediate, or 
  53. Advanced from the Level menu.

  55. Five grid settings are available - 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and 7x7 grids.  To 
  56. choose a grid, select the grid setting from the Size menu.

  61. In addition to playing Mosaic using numbered tiles, you can also play Mosaic 
  62. using bitmap tiles.  All you have to do when playing with bitmap tiles is to 
  63. arrange the tiles to form the bitmap picture.

  65. To use bitmap tiles:

  67.  1. Select Picture from the Options menu. 
  68.     The Select Bitmap dialog box appears. 
  69.  2. Select the desired bitmap file from the Open filename list box. 
  70.  3. Choose OK. 
  71.     The scrambled bitmap tiles appears on the Mosaic game board.

  76. You can configure the sound that are produced for the different game events in 
  77. Mosaic. The five game events in Mosaic are valid move, invalid move, solve 
  78. puzzle, scramble puzzle, and sound on/off toggle.

  82.  1. Select Configure Sound... from the Options menu. 
  83.     The Configure Sound dialog box appears. 
  84.  2. Select the game event from the Events group box. 
  85.  3. Type the path and filename for the wave file in the Wave File text box. 
  86.     Alternatively, you can choose File List to locate and select the wave file. 
  87.  4. Choose Test if you want to play the selected wave file. 
  88.  5. Choose OK to exit the <Event> Wave File dialog box. 
  89.     The path and filename for the wave file appears in the Wave File group box. 
  90.  6. Select another game event to configure or choose OK to confirm and exit the 
  91.     <Event> Wave File dialog box.

  96. If you are playing Mosaic using the bitmap tile, you can get hints through the 
  97. Help menu in the Mosaic game board.  For example, if you are playing Mosaic 
  98. using CREATIVE.BMP in your audio card software's directory, choosing Hints from 
  99. the Help menu will display the bitmap picture.  You can position Creative 
  100. Mosaic Hints beside your game board to help you fit the bitmap picture.
