- 1. Double-click the Creative Mosaic icon in the Sound Blaster folder.

- In a grid with numbered tiles, the objective is to arrange the tiles in the
- correct numeric sequence. You arrange the tiles by moving them around the grid.
- A move is made by clicking a tile adjacent to the empty square. This moves the
- tile to the empty square. You continue shuffling the tiles until you have
- successfully arranged the tiles in numeric sequence.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.3. How to Choose Game Difficulty ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- Mosaic can be played at different levels of difficulty using the skill level
- and grid setting.

- There are three skill levels available in Mosaic. They are Beginner,
- Intermediate, and Advanced. The higher the skill level, the more jumbled up
- the tiles are. To choose a skill level, select Beginner, Intermediate, or
- Advanced from the Level menu.

- Five grid settings are available - 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and 7x7 grids. To
- choose a grid, select the grid setting from the Size menu.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.4. How to Use Bitmap Tiles ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- In addition to playing Mosaic using numbered tiles, you can also play Mosaic
- using bitmap tiles. All you have to do when playing with bitmap tiles is to
- arrange the tiles to form the bitmap picture.

- To use bitmap tiles:

- 1. Select Picture from the Options menu.
- The Select Bitmap dialog box appears.
- 2. Select the desired bitmap file from the Open filename list box.
- 3. Choose OK.
- The scrambled bitmap tiles appears on the Mosaic game board.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.5. How to Configure Sound ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- You can configure the sound that are produced for the different game events in
- Mosaic. The five game events in Mosaic are valid move, invalid move, solve
- puzzle, scramble puzzle, and sound on/off toggle.

- To configure sound for the game events:
-
- 1. Select Configure Sound... from the Options menu.
- The Configure Sound dialog box appears.
- 2. Select the game event from the Events group box.
- 3. Type the path and filename for the wave file in the Wave File text box.
- Alternatively, you can choose File List to locate and select the wave file.
- 4. Choose Test if you want to play the selected wave file.
- 5. Choose OK to exit the <Event> Wave File dialog box.
- The path and filename for the wave file appears in the Wave File group box.
- 6. Select another game event to configure or choose OK to confirm and exit the
- <Event> Wave File dialog box.

- If you are playing Mosaic using the bitmap tile, you can get hints through the
- Help menu in the Mosaic game board. For example, if you are playing Mosaic
- using CREATIVE.BMP in your audio card software's directory, choosing Hints from
- the Help menu will display the bitmap picture. You can position Creative
- Mosaic Hints beside your game board to help you fit the bitmap picture.

- The three tool buttons in the Mosaic game board serve the following purposes:

- o Use the first button to start a new game.
- o Use the second button to toggle sound on and off.
- o Use the third button to quit Mosaic.

- To the right of the three buttons is the counter. The counter displays the
- number of moves that have been made. When you begin a game, the counter starts
- at zero. Everytime a tile is moved, the counter is increased by one.

- The menu bar contains the size, level, options, and help menus. These menus
- contain commands which allow you to select game options and online help.
