- Bells, Whistles, and Sound Boards
- REGISTRATION DOCUMENTATION
-
- Copyright (c) 1993-95, Edward Schlunder
- All Rights Reserved
-
- Please sent your registrations to Edward Schlunder rather than
- any of the other people working on BWSB. If you sent it to
- anyone else, your registration will be delayed a lot longer
- while it gets remailed or you will receive an older version of
- BWSB than what is currently developed. My address is:
-
- Edward T. Schlunder
- 554 North Acacia Road
- Apache Junction, AZ 85219-4313
- U.S.A.
-
- When you register, you will need to send one of the following
- methods of payment:
-
- Direct Bank Account Transfer - This is by far the most safe
- and fast way of payment, but it does cost the sender some
- extra money to get the bank to send it. If you are interested
- in sending your money this way, please contact me for the
- details.
- This is most commonly only used for commercail registrations.
-
- International Money Order - Most preferred over other types of
- payment. Nobody can steal it in the mail and no time is wasted
- waiting for it to clear.
-
- Personal Check (must be drawn on a U.S. bank) - Easiest for
- you, but this will slow down the registration process due
- to the fact that I must wait for the check to clear before I
- can mail your registered version.
-
- U.S. Dollars (cash) - Least preferred method of payment. Your
- money may get stolen by someone in the Postal Service if they
- can see it. If you send U.S. cash, make sure that if you hold
- the envelope up to a bright light, no money can be seen.
-
- NOTICE: I will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen
- registrations!
-
- After I receive your registration (and it clears, if you sent a
- check), I will mail you a floppy disk (type that you specified)
- inside a padded floppy disk mailer (or a stout cardboard mailer
- if I run out of my current supply of mailers). Please allow up to
- four weeks for it to arrive. I normally get them sent out right
- away, but certain times I get swamped with other activities and
- can't mail everything as quickly.
-
- Currently, BWSB has no written documentation. When I get enough
- registrations to purchase a laser printer, I will start including
- written documentation with BWSB. As it is, however, most of the
- people who have currently registered can print the BWSB docs
- either as good as or better than I could at this time :-)
-
- STANDARD EDITION (same as evaluation version, but allows use of BWSB in
- ──────────────── freeware/shareware programs released to the public)
-
- o Costs $30 plus shipping and handling. Upgrade cost is
- $10 for the latest Standard Edition, or $20 to upgrade to
- the latest Advanced Edition.
-
- o Royalty free right to sell and distribute freeware and
- shareware programs created with BWSB.
-
- o You may only distribute compiled EXEs and MSEs from BWSB
- with your products. Absolutely *no* redistribution of any
- other part of BWSB!
-
- o Includes source code to the example programs only, not the
- MSE files or other parts of the library. The full source
- code to Tailgunner's Target Practice is also included.
-
- o Ability to play music and sound effects together at the
- same time.
-
- o Technical support is free for the lifetime of BWSB. If
- bugs are found, I will do my best to fix them as soon as
- possible (but no guarentees!).
-
- Don't expect to get requested features implemented. I am
- now busy with coding a protected mode version and will
- probably only be adding new features to BWSB when I need
- them or I get bored and have nothing better to do :-).
-
- ADVANCED EDITION (same as Standard Edition except includes full source
- ──────────────── code to routines and programs in BWSB)
-
- o Costs $50 plus shipping and handling. Upgrade cost is
- $10 for the latest Advanced Edition.
-
- o Includes *all* source code to BWSB, which is:
-
- Source code to the Music and Sound Engines [ASM]
- Source all the library, unit, and object files [*]
- Source code to all example programs (even TTP)
- Source code to all utilities (2GDM, etc) [**]
-
- [*] The majority of this code is written in ASM, with
- little touches of higher level languages in some
- areas.
- [**] The majority of these programs are written using
- PDS 7.1. They may compile under other Basic
- compilers with some modifications of your own.
-
- [ASM] All ASM code has been developed using TASM 3.1
- in masm-mode (not IDEAL mode). It may compile
- using other assemblers with modifications of
- your own.
-
- If you *need* MASM 5.1 compilable ASM code,
- please specify that you wish to receive BWSB v1.04,
- as that was the last release to compile using MASM
- without modifications of your own. You will not
- receive the latest version of BWSB. Note that this
- only supports TP/QB/PDS.
-

- COMMERCIAL EDITION (same as Advanced Edition except allows use in
- ────────────────── commercial programs; shareware is not commercial!)
-
- o Payment by one of the following methods (subject to
- change for every applicant):
-
- $100 + 7% Royalty Fee - You pay $100 upfront and then
- pay a royalty from all profit. You may create multiple
- commercial products without paying the upfront fee
- again. I despise this payment method the most since
- there is so much ongoing paper work involved. Upgrades
- are free for bug fixes. To get feature upgrades, you
- must pay the upfront fee again.
-
- $1,000 Flat Fee - You get a signed license from me to
- use BWSB in a *SINGLE* commercial product. You must get
- a new license for every additional product you want to
- market. All future upgrades are free.
-
- $5,000 Unlimited Flat Fee - You get a signed license to
- use BWSB in an unlimited number of commercial products
- created by your company. All future upgrades are free.
