- Soundwave's musicdisk a VIRTUAL VISIONS release
- "DRASTIC SCREAM"
-
-
-
- copyrights
-
- All songs written by me (Lasse Makkonen). You have no rights to use
- the modules outside the music disk in any way or modify any part of
- it.
-
- You are allowed to copy and distribute the production in its whole,
- unmodified form if NO FEE is taken (you do not profit from my
- work, that is. Material costs etc can be charged). We call this
- kind of programs 'freeware'. Distribute only the original archives,
- do not delete them if you wish to spread this product on.
-
- I am not responsible for any damage caused by this program.

- credits
-
- graphics (the backgroun picture is hand-drawn), music tracking,
- pascal coding by Soundwave (Lasse Makkonen). Sound system (DSMI)
- by Otto Chrons and Jussi Lahdenniemi.
-
- all modules were made with ST3 using 10-16 digital channels.
-
-
- configuration
-
- At the beginning you may configure your soundcard if the detection
- routine fails to autodetect your sound board. Refer to your
- soundcard manual for correct settings. Incorrect settings may lead
- to machine crash or just silence.
-
-
- using the musicdisk
-
- Once you get it working and hear some music you should not face
- problems. Pick a song with the LMB and press ESC to exit.
-
-
- system requirements
-
- production needs to work:
-
- ■ computer with at least a 80386 processor
- ■ a soundcard supported by DSMI (GUS,SB,PAS,ARIA or WSS)
- ■ 4megs of memory (you'll find out if you run out of it, don't worry)
- ■ VGA card
- ■ about 2 megs of HD space
- ■ a mouse
-
- As a soundcard I recommend a GUS, since the modules use so many
- digital channels. If not, requires a fast machine to take care
- of software mixing for a good sound quality (and to make those
- volumebars look nice). Increase mixing rate manually to get
- better sound quality.
-
- You must have an EMS manager installed.
-
-
- bugs?
-
- Since I am mainly an artist, not a coder, there can be (and there is)
- some bugs in the source. If you face some (get weird sounding samples
- or something) try with different settings and always try to free some
- more memory. Btw, the enormous memory requirement of this software
- is cause of DSMI and EMS ... I was not able to load a module and then
- overwrite it with new one from disk without always something left
- remaining in the memory and this resulted a crash after every 3rd
- song played. Then, after receiving no help from the author of DSMI
- for pascal (hello, Jussi, and thanks ;) I had to load every single
- song to memory at the same time. I know it sucks but what could I do?
-
- NOTE that not all the soundcard support routines are tested, it worked
- with GUS and SB16 boards (in a SB test with SBOS my machine crashed,
- but that ain't a wonder, heh...)
-
-
- greets & hellos from Soundwave
-
- to the skilled composers and everyone in pc-techno scene...
- specially to music groups Radical Rhythms and Traxx.
-
-
- contact address
-
- I don't know why should you contact me, but here are my address...
- Send hate/fan mail, some good samples (there are never too many
- good samples, or what?), money, anything. (I am also interested in
- making some music for commercial purposes)...

-
- But hey, do not bother me with a tiny bug on this software (like it
- doesn't work in your machine at all), I am probably too lazy to fix
- it anyway.
