- ABOUT SATRIANI
- ==============
-
- I ran across this MIDI rendition of a piece by Joe Satriani somewhere or
- another -- possibly on CompuServe or America Online. It's really a
- terrific rendition, very well sequenced. My contribution was to find
- a Proteus voicing that really brought out the flavor of the music --
- I'm quite pleased with the results and would be glad to send a tape for
- those who don't have a Proteus but would like to hear what it sounds like.
-
- One odd note: the sequence is in 4/4 but the song is in 5/4. I'm not
- sure why the person that put the sequence together set things up this
- way -- but there you have it. It doesn't really matter, since the
- result sounds the same either way it's written.

- TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
-
- 'Satriani.mid' is a multitrack MIDI (Type 2) file, so you will need a
- sequencer which is able to deal with this type of file. The piece contains
- nine tracks, runs about 5 minutes in length, and will take a bit of effort
- to find the right combination of voices for your MIDI setup unless you
- happen to have a Proteus/1 (in which case, it'll take no time).
-
- I've voiced it for a generic Proteus/1, whose setup is shown below:
