- ABOUT BLUEMOON
- ==============
-
- This is a rendition of Art Tatum's "Blue Moon", a very pleasant bit of
- jazz piano. I picked it up from America Online. Here's what the original
- poster had to say about it:
-
- ---- from jamie12@aol.com ----
- hi!!!!This is a transcription dated 1938 of the great jazz genius Art Tatum
- playing the Rodgers and Hart classic "Blue Moon". I step recorded note for
- note it in Vision piano-player style, and while some effort was made to tweak
- it as best as possible for feel, the notation is exact, and authentic.
- this version is freeware but i request that you notify me that you have
- downloaded it so i can compute royalties and judge the interest level that
- exists. There is much more where this came from. email "jamie12"
- I left the key velocities in a "medium" range in an attempt to provide the
- best dynamic range.
- If you would like the multitrack "vision" version contact me and I will send
- it to you.
- Happy Listening.

- TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
-
- 'BlueMoon.mid' is a multitrack MIDI file. If your sequencer cannot
- handle multi-track (Type 2) MIDI files, use 'BlueMoon.md1' instead,
- which is Type 1. Either way, there's a single track of acoustic piano,
- so this should be easy to get this song going on any MIDI rig.
-
- For my synths (Roland D-70 and Emu Proteus/1), here's the setup:
-
-
- Track #1 plays on MIDI channel #1 of the D-70.
-
-
- ROLAND D-70 SETUP
- =================
- Channel #1 -- GrandPf Sw(1) patch with vol=127 and pan=0. *
-
- * - The piano track must be played back one octave higher for use
- with the D-70. For other synths, this should not be necessary.
-
-
- That is all. Hope you enjoy this wonderful piece. You can contact
- me at bert@netcom.com for questions and comments. For those who want
- to hear what I intended this song to sound like, you can send $7 to
- the address below and I will send you a cassette tape (the money covers
- my cost, plus a bit for the time and effort spent). Please indicate
- the title of the song(s) you are interested in, whether you prefer
- Dolby B, C or no noise reduction, and allow N weeks for delivery.
- [For delivery outside the US, enclose 5$US and a self-addressed
- prepaid envelope.]
