- Vocalise, Op 34, No. 14. Serge Rachmaninoff. (vocalise.mid)
-
- This is one of the many songs that Rachmaninoff wrote. It was written
- in 1912 and was dedicated to a coloratura singer in the Moscow Grand
- Opera, Mme Antonina Neshdanova who was a friend and admirer of
- Rachmaninoff.
-
- Voclise is a song without words and was orchestrated in 1916 at the
- request of the conductor Serge Koussevitzky with the violins playing
- the vocal line.
-
- I have tried to create the effect of a soprano choir in a large
- resonant hall accompanied by a piano. The midi file consists of two
- parts: channel 1: "Choir Aahs" (General Midi Patch #53) and channel 2
- grand piano (General Midi Patch #1). The reverb should be set to 127
- and chorus approx 100.
-
- This sequence was produced with a Roland JV1080 synthesizer module and
- a Yamaha Clavinova keyboard. It is the first I have produced with my
- new synthesizer and is an experiment. On my set up it sounds great.
