- Stravinsky called Ravel "The Swiss clockmaker" for his rhythmic
- precision (and perhaps complexity,but Stravinsky was no slouch there
- either!). Ravel's Toccata, from his Tombeau de Couperin, is typical
- Ravel: no heavy-handedness here, but a lot of syncopation and
- rhythm.
