- ABOUT CAROLBEL
- ==============
-
- This is a transcription of Carl Orff's "Carol of the Bells". This
- is the quintissential 'Christmas' song that everyone, no doubt, has
- heard over and over again. The original MIDI file I ran across had
- a single track. All I did was to layer it with two other complementary
- sounds to produce a fatter arrangement. The three tracks are identical
- to one another.
-
-
- TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
-
- I selected Rhodes + Glokenspiel + SpaceClavier sounds on the Roland
- D-70 and Emu Proteus/1. As such, it will sound 'best' with these types
- of sounds, although other synths may certainly be employed.
-
- 'CarolBel.mid' is a multitrack MIDI file. If your sequencer does not
- support multi-track (Type 2) MIDI files, use the 'CarolBel.md1' file
- instead, which is a Type 1 file. [All three tracks of the multitrack
- file are the same, and are equivalent to what's in CarolBel.md1].
- You don't need a MIDI system of any signficant size to be able to play
- this tune, although MIDI delay can be a problem. Ideally you would
- map the single source track to two or three separate instruments, but
- I haven't figured out how to do that in my sequencer yet [Vision].
-
-
- Here's the setup for the Proteus/1 + D-70, should also give you an idea
- of what sounds you'll need to use on your system.
