  9. What does it do?
  10.  
  11.   M1Bank allows you to make up program sets for your Korg M1, by 
  12. picking from programs stored on your PC. Programs in your M1 can be 
  13. copied to the PC, and saved into a bank file. Bank files can store up 
  14. to 12800 programs, and you can load each of these into any patch number 
  15. on your M1. You can also load or save 100 programs directly from a file 
  16. to the Korg, allowing you to save sets of your programs.

  18. Installation

  20.   First copy M1BANK.EXE and M1BANK.TXT into a directory on your hard 
  21. disk. If the file CTL3D.DLL is not already in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM 
  22. directory, then copy CTL3D.DLL into the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  23. Add a program icon to Program Manager, using FILE, NEW, Program Item.

  25. Using M1 Banker
  26.  
  27.   Connect your M1 to a MIDI input and output from your PC. Load 
  28. M1Banker by clicking on the program icon you have created. After the 
  29. registration screen you will be asked for a file name. If you want to 
  30. make a new file just type in a name which does not exist, and you will 
  31. be asked if you wish to create it.
  32.   Wait for a few seconds when the program has loaded. Your Korg will 
  33. freeze, and send data to the computer. After this has finished a list 
  34. of voices on your Korg will appear on the right hand side of the 
  35. program window. A list of voices in the current file can be seen in the 
  36. left hand side of the window.
  37.   To move a voice from the file to the Korg select the voice to be 
  38. replaced in the right list, and double click on the voice you wish to 
  39. replace it with in the left list.
  40.   To move a voice to the left(file) list double click on it in the 
  41. right hand list. 
  42.   You may also select a voice in the list box, and use the arrow (>) 
  43. buttons.
  44.   To receive all the voices from the Korg to the file voices click on 
  45. the [Get All] button.
  46.   To clear the current file press the [Clear] button.

  48. All these functions will not alter the file on disk, until you write 
  49. the file by clicking the [Update File] button, or using the FILE, 
  50. Update menu item.

  52. To open or create another file click the [Change File] button, or the 
  53. FILE, Open/New menu item.

  55. The functions will also not write to the Korg until you press the 
  56. [Update Korg] button, which will send your changes to the Korg.

  58. To change the devices you are using to output to the Korg, and to 
  59. receive from the Korg select them using the Ports section of the 
  60. program.

  62. To change the channel you are using to communicate with the Korg use 
  63. the FILE, Preferences... menu item. This enables you to have several 
  64. Korg M1's connected to the same MIDI interface.

  66. To get the current Korg voices to a file use the KORG, Save Korg Voices...
  67. menu item. This will prompt you for a file name. The voices will be saved
  68. as an M1Bank bank file, allowing you to load it either using the 
  69. KORG, Load Korg Voices... menu item, or by loading into the saved voices
  70. window.

  72. To load voices directly to the Korg from a file use the 
  73. KORG, Load Korg Voices... menu item. This will ask you for a bank file
  74. name. If the bank file does not have 100 programs in it you will 
  75. be asked if you want to use the first 100. You will not be asked this
  76. for files saved using the KORG, Save Korg Voices... menu item as they
  77. always have the correct number of voices.

  79. Uninstalling M1Bank

  81.   To uninstall just delete M1BANK.EXE and M1BANK.TXT from the program 
  82. directory, and M1BANK.INI from your WINDOWS directory.

  86.   M1Bank only costs £15 to register. Please send a Sterling cheque for 
  87. £15 payable to Joseph Marshall, £15 Sterling in cash or Travellers 
  88. Cheques or Postal Order, or $30 US in cash. No non-UK cheques please.

  90. title bar of the main program window).
