  9.      kdir.exe - directory for KaraDos
  10.  
  11. SYNOPSIS
  12.      [path1]kdir [path2][catal]]
  13.        with catal = a path and/or a filename with or without
  14.        extension of a  catalogue  (default extension .cat)
  15.  
  16. AVAILABILITY
  17.      The kdir command is available within the  kardp16.zip  pack-
  18.      age.  This package contains the KaraDos product delivery. It
  19.      is a Shareware.  See the readme file of  the  product.   The
  20.      package kards02.zip contains karaoke files collection 02
  21.  
  22. DESCRIPTION
  23.      kdir is a small front-end for kara.exe program.
  24.      It  displays a list of songs and calls kara when a  song  is
  25.      selected. Songs may be sorted with an ascii catalogue file.
  26.  
  27.      Four operation modes are allowed with  four  different  win-
  28.      dows:
  29.      - video screen and midi output,
  30.      - video screen and synth. output (GUS with ultramid only),
  31.      - full screen and midi output,
  32.      - full screen and synth. output (GUS with ultramid only).
  33.  
  34.      The current screen selection is recalled on next kdir call.
  35.  
  36.      Catal is the catalogue of songs  to  be  displayed.  If  the
  37.      catalogue  is  not  found  in the specified path2, search is
  38.      made in path1.
  39.  
  40.      Default : kdir scans the current directory  and  search  for
  41.      file  with  the .mid or .kar extension.  If no path is given
  42.      for a song in the catalogue, kdir assume that the song is in
  43.      the  directory  of  the  catalogue.  A  song  not  found  is
  44.      displayed.  If you wants to have a catalogue where the  pro-
  45.      duct  is  or in any other one, dont forget to specify a com-
  46.      plete path for each song.  For .mid files,  the  first  meta
  47.      event lyric is displayed on the menu.

  49.   VALID KEYS
  50.      F1 manual of kdir in english, F2 manual of kara in english,
  51.  
  52.      F3 manul of kdir in french, F4 manual of kara in french.

  54.      ESC or Alt x to quit, TAB or F6 to change the mode ,  F5  to
  55.      zoom the window in full screen or unzoom, Up and Down arrows
  56.      to select and enter to active the selected song.

  58.      The P or p key allows to write  the  catalogue  in  extended
  59.      form  in the directory path2 in a filename with .lst at end.

  74.      This file may be edited to distribute a nice karaoke menu to
  75.      yours guests.

  77.      T or t key to tag a song, U for untag and space to play  all
  78.      tagged songs.

  80.   MOUSE OPERATIONS
  81.      You may scan songs with the mouse (up and down).
  82.      Left button : select the current highlighted song
  83.      Right button : exit

  85.   FORMAT OF CATALOGUE FILE (ascii file)
  86.      if line begins with @,  it  is  a  sub  menu  title  and  is
  87.      displayed  in  yellow  foreground color else its a song name
  88.      with full path with or  without  extension  (.mid  and  .kar
  89.      defaults)  and  optional parameters for kara call.  The kara
  90.      option -do and -po are not recommanded in catalogue  because
  91.      they  are  automatically  inserted  depending on the current
  92.      window selection.

  110.      If not enough memory is found to load and execute kara,  the
  111.      activation will not work. The same if the kara.exe module is
  112.      not found in the directory where kdir.exe resides.
