  11. Users of AirDrums must accept this disclaimer of warranty:
  12. "AirDrums is supplied as is.  The author disclaims all
  13. warranties, expressed or implied, including, without limitation,
  14. the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose.

  16. quential, which may result from the use of AirDrums."

  18. AirDrums is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
  19. to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  20. friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of
  21. another system.  The essence of "user-supported" software is to
  22. provide personal computer users with quality software without
  23. high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to
  24. continue to develop new products.  If you find this program
  25. useful and find that you are using AirDrums and continue to use
  26. AirDrums after a reasonable trial period, you must make a 
  27. registration payment of $35.00 to Uncle Larry Software.

  29. The $35.00 registration fee will license one copy for use on any one
  30. computer at any one time.  You must treat this software just like
  31. a book.  An example is that this software may be used by any
  32. number of people and may be freely moved from one computer
  33. location to another, so long as there is no possibility of it
  34. being used at one location while it's being used at another.
  35. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at the
  36. same time.

  39. Anyone distributing AirDrums for any kind of remuneration must
  40. first contact Uncle Larry Software, DiBona Associates at 
  41. the address above for authorization.

  43. You are encouraged to pass a copy of AirDrums along to your
  44. friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their
  45. copy if they find that they can use it.  All registered users
  46. will receive a copy of the latest version of the AirDrums
  47. system.

  50. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  52. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before
  53. buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, 
  54. you are expected to register. Individual programs differ on details, 
  55. some request registration while others require it, some specify a 
  56. maximum trial period. With registration, you get anything from the 
  57. simple right to continue using the software to an updated program 
  58. with printed manual.

  60. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software,
  61. and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  62. exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
  63. programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are
  64. of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs
  65. and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
  66. distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
  67. and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
  68. specific group. For example, some authors require written
  69. permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
  70. Shareware.

  73. should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  74. whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  75. fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.

  78. product, you don't pay for it.
