  27. It is impossible to hardwire anything to disable the loopback function
  28. on the CS4231. So yes, as it's possible to do it on the CS4231, it's
  29. possible to do it on the Gravis Ultrasound Max. If you have the regular
  30. GUS, then you'll need to modify it with my jumper specs on the gus
  31. archive sites.

  33. This function is called the digital loopback. All that is needed in your
  34. application is to prevent the ADC data going directly to the DAC (and not
  35. the other way around like you said. Just disable the digiatl loopback, and
  36. you'll be done. This is accomplished by puttin a 0 in the LBE bit of the
  37. Loopback Control Register (I13). You also have the possibility of simply
  38. attenuating this value with the other bits in the I13 register.

  40. If i remember correctly, base address is for teh indirect registers (like
  41. I13) for the first 5 bits while the 6th bit must be set. base +1 is for
  42. the value. In the case of I13, the lsb is the enable/disable, second bit
  43. is unused and the others are the attenuation, where 0= 0dB attenuation
  44. and 63=94,5dB attenuation.
