  19. Dear GUSers,
  20.     Does anyone know if the FAQ is currently being maintained? I heard 
  21. the maintainer was unavailable. If not, I would like to volunteer for the 
  22. job.  I can't say I know the GUS inside and out, but I know if pretty well, and have had mine for over 2 
  23. years.  I would like to update the Glist and make it part of the FAQ also.
  24. I have read the FAQ over and found it heavy on hardware technicallity, 
  25. but short on practicality in some areas.  Any help would be appreciated.

  41. I just installed the new (gus0043.zip) GUS utilities,
  42. including the Patch/Bank Manager program.  In a silly
  43. effort to organize my patch files, I decided to add
  44. a BANK0 directory to my \ultrasnd\midi directory and
  45. move the BANK0 files to that location.
  46.  
  47. The problem is that I can't get my patch manager to
  48. default to the new subdirectory and file designations.
  49. Any suggestions?

  57. GUS Tech support told me that you could use a GUS MIDI cable on a Sound Blaster,
  58. but you couldn't use a Soundblaster MIDI cable on a GUS Max, because "we adhere
  59. to the standard, and they don't."

  61. Is it me or does this sound like a load of malarkey?  In the first place,
  62. has ANYONE besides Creative Labs defined a standard for connecting a MIDI
  63. In/Out pair to a game port?  And how could they be wiring a cable that connects
  64. to 5 pins on the game port such that the GUS cable could work both places,
  65. but the Soundblaster only work on the Soundblaster?

  67. Has anyone tried using the Soundblaster Cable?  Does it work?

  90. For those of you who haven't heard of Propats - the following from
  91. Bill Allen sums it up:
