  29. I sympathise Tuomas: I built my own midi interface and I had all degrees of 
  30. midi data reception from 0% to 100%, until I substituted a resistor with a 
  31. potentiometer, and fine tuned the value until the interface worked reliably. 
  32. It seems (based on my experiences at least) that the process is voltage 
  33. critical.

  35. I would suggest you use something like MIDIMON to ascertain exactly what is 
  36. being received. My guess is that your problem lies in the interface hardware. 
  37. I'm not sure how accessible the electronics are, but the next step for me 
  38. would be to use a cheap logic probe to see where the signal breaks down, and 
  39. maybe tweak the circuit slightly.
