  18. Windows audio access is achieved using standard, universal commands.  The best
  19. ones to start with are the MCI (multimedia command interface) strings.  Look
  20. for the MCIStrWH and MMSystem reference files from the Windows SDK.
  21. The dunderhead play routine is sndPlaySound, which is supplied with the file
  22. name and plays a WAV, no hassle.
  23. Windows 95 will offer something called DirectSound, about which I know nothing,
  24. but it should be another way to play effects.  Look at the prerelease SDK for
  25. info.

  39. Clint,
  40.
  41. If you purchased your GUS MAX at a dealer you should have got a set of disks
  42. 1. Install disks (6)
  43. 2. Bonus disks (2) which contains SoundStation & WaveLite
  44.
  45. The programs on set 2 (BONUS) can be used for this purpose.
  46. You can SAMPLE & playback your sounds.
  47.
  48. For making soundtracks you need another program
  49. I use ScreamTracker 3.0 which is  FreeWare.
  50. I also heard of SoundTracker Pro 16 (?ware).
  51.
  52. I hope this answers your question.
  53.
  54. Sincerly,
  55.
  56. Patrick Balm.
