  15. Subject: Probs with latest sw (3.59?)
  16.
  17. I downloaded the 3.59 drivers from the gravis bbs, and tried to install them.
  18. The install begins, messes with autoexec etc, and then I get a hard
  19. parity error every time.. Anyone else have this problem?
  20. Gord (real tired of sw problems on the gus) Wait

  26. Subject: XG (eXtended General midi)
  27.
  28. As I read in a Dutch magazine last weekend it seems that Yamaha
  29. is trying to establish a superset of General Midi. It is called
  30. XG (eXtended General midi). It is not clear if it encompasses
  31. also the Roland General Standard (GS) description. One thing seems
  32. clear. The Roland bankswitching uses CC0 for bankswitching. The
  33. original scheme for Midi calls this the Most Significant byte
  34. and CC32 the least significant byte. As I understand Yamaha uses CC32
  35. for bankswitching (and so uses it AS the least significant byte).
  36.
  37. Does anybody know more of the XG standard? I know that more
  38. controllers where defined. And how do XG and GS interfere?
  39.
  40. Would be interested to get the specs.
