  20. There certainly is. I can't remember the exact names, but do an
  21. archie for 'cda' or 'cd' if you can. I did that and ended up with
  22. 3 different programs for MS-DOS which could read from my SCSI
  23. 4101 with varying degrees of success. Some need an ASPI driver
  24. and some don't. Some made a poor recording. Sometimes my machine
  25. hung. But sometimes it worked! I have a SCSI HD as well on the
  26. same Future Domain TMC-1680 controller so I
  27. don't know if that might have been causing some problems.

  29. As I said the other day, Corel SCSI II for Windows includes a
  30. CD audio capture program for Windows which also works.

  58. Buy the Fatar keyboard, for sure! The clavinova is nice enough but with 
  59. the Fatar you'll have much nicer feel and more versatility down the road. 
  60. If you're not happy with the GUS piano patches, you can always get a 
  61. separate module just for piano sounds and hook it up via midi. Many of 
  62. these modules are available used for $100 or less used and they sound 
  63. really good. If you are just starting out on piano, I think the GUS 
  64. patches will keep you happy for a while.
  65. The Fatar 900 has received good reviews in the past....

  80. I'm trying to get a GUS Max (version 1.8) to work with a Panasonic 563 drive.

  82. The manual from the GUS says that the drivers come with the CD-ROM drive 
  83. and the company we bought the CD drive from say they come with the sound 
  84. card.

  86. I got hold of the Creative Labs drivers, and they don't seem to work -- 
  87. they're constantly looking for a SB Pro that it's interfaced through...
  88.  
  89. Are there any other drivers, etc around that look straight at the CD 
  90. drive (i.e. IO address 340) not through a SoundBlaster Pro at 220 or 
  91. whatever?

  102. I hope someone on this list can help me. I'm using the MIDI adaptor
  103. from PME that is guaranteed to work with the GUS. The cables are connected
  104. to a Korg X5 keyboard. The MIDI out works since a Windows sequencer can
  105. drive the X5. But I can not get MIDI in to work on any Win or DOS
  106. softwares(recording session, winjammer, midifier).
  107. I know the keyboard's MIDI out is okay since the X5 can control another synth.
  108. Software is okay since MIDI out works and the PC keyboard midi input works.
  109. So I think the problem lies in the MIDI adaptor or the GUS card. Assuming
  110. the MIDI adaptor is fine, is there a way to check my GUS card? Has anyone
  111. else had a similar problem? And how did you fix the problem? Thank you in
  112. advance.

  127. There are several programs that grab cd-audio from an audio CD using a
  128. CD-ROM drive. A few of them can be used on SCSI cd-rom drives. Some
  129. SCSI CD-ROM drives can't do it (no firmware support).

  133. DA2WAVxx   -> Newer version of CDDA ??
