  1. Maxpats v. 1.2  - makes your GUS sound like SCC-1 ;)

  4. This patch set is based mainly on patches at Ultrasound Internet archives.
  5. (Thanks to everyone who uploaded!) I've also self tweaked some of the
  6. patches, usually, in order to make them smaller. These replacements
  7. really make a difference in terms of MIDI quality; many of the original
  8. Ultrasound(tm) patches sound a little thin. I'm quite happy with the
  9. results so far and I'll keep on searching for better and also, if possible
  10. ,smaller replacements. BTW, some of the patches are 8bit but that really
  11. doesn't make a big difference. There's list of the replacements at the end
  12. of this document.

  14. Changes from last version:
  15.  
  16. - New percussion patches; from SCC-1. The original metronome bell
  17.   (percussion #32) changed for a lot bigger replacement.

  20. Compatability
  21.  
  22. - The patches are normal GF1 patches; if you get compatability problems
  23.   they occur because some of the patches are bigger than the original ones.
  24. - The set doesn't yet work with Mega-EM 3.0x; Ultrasound memory runs out.
  25. - The set doesn't yet work with Ultramid using the -C option if the default
  26.   ultramid.ini used.(patch memory runs out) Works with all custom setups
  27.   I've tested, though. (MK2, UFO 1, and others)
  28. - Loads about 80 patches with loadpats using the default patches.ini, not bad.
  29. - The total patch set size is bit smaller than the original !
  30. - Should work with all patch-cacheing applications.
