- │ Capacala FAQ │
- ├─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤
- │ Q: "Why do you include a boring FAQ section in this file?" │
- │ │
- │ A: Because it's popular nowadays to do so and you all know that we're just │
- │ an asslicking, populistic group. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "When will you release a new production?" │
- │ │
- │ A: As soon as we get to it. You see, we do not have a must to release crap │
- │ every week (as some groups tend to do). We do demos/intros/whatever for │
- │ fun and that kind of mass production is not way cool in our opinion. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Could you recommend me some good books to become as good as you?" │
- │ │
- │ A: Naturally books like "Programming EGA and VGA cards" and stuff like │
- │ that are coder's choices, but I (Breeze) would rather recommend │
- │ "Shógun", "Silmarillion", "The Lord of The Rings" or that kind of │
- │ literature. Also old Japanese poetry is kind of neat. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Where can I get your fabulous/miserable productions?" │
- │ │
- │ A: From THE DARKSíDE, our WHQ, naturally. And things aren't so bad even if │
- │ live outside Finland: we have plenty of Distribution Sites all around │
- │ the globe. Just see CCDISTxx.NFO for the complete list of sites. │
- │ Also, many demo-orientated ftp sites (e.g. ftp.cdrom.com) have many │
- │ of our productions, so if you have ftp access, go dl'em... │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Could you tell me some more of the members of Capacala?" │
- │ │
- │ A: No, I could not. Everything that's worth mentioning is mentioned in the │
- │ uppermost section called (surprise surprise!) "Capacala members in the │
- │ natural order", but a MEMBINFO.TXT is planned. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Well, what about the history of Capacala?" │
- │ │
- │ A: What about it? Capacala was founded in 1990 by flap and Spay. In 1993, │
- │ Passy, Braindead, Breeze and Axolotl joined. Braindead left us in Yule- │
- │ time and Trancer joined soon after. On the summer of 1994 Tetsuo join- │
- │ ed. And on that same summer, we got the sixth place in the ASM'94 demo │
- │ competition with our bone-crushing demo THE REAL THING. Since then, │
- │ things have been quite quiet, only few minor releases since. And in │
- │ April we released a demo called The Unreal Thing, which was a moderate │
- │ success. And we will surely gobble something up for ASM'95, so be there. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "What's with this sex-related attitude of yours?" │
- │ │
- │ A: Huh? You don't like it? Well, we don't care. Everyone does not have to │
- │ like it. It is what it is, and it is supposed to be that way. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Why are you so rude?" │
- │ │
- │ A: I still have a terrible hangover. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Do you use Assembler?" │
- │ │
- │ A: Yes, mostly. We do the code first with Pascal, and then convert it to │
- │ (almost) 100% asm, and that's not bad. It just takes time, that's all. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Why isn't there more graphics in your demos?" │
- │ │
- │ A: Because we don't have a fulltime GFX artist. We would like to have one, │
- │ so if you're interested, drop a message like explained below. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Isn't Capacala and Core Image somewhat the same thing?" │
- │ │
- │ A: Hell no. We have nothing in common, except that we are friends. │
- │ │
- │ Q: "Do I have to ask more?" │
- │ │
- │ A: Well, maybe that's enough. Ghod, I hate you nosy snoopers... │
- │ │
